While their following on Facebook is still quite small, the guys over at
Marvel Cinematic Universe seem very up to date on all things Marvel Studios related, so it's not a stretch to believe they may indeed have heard
something. However, that's all been news aggregated from other sources, so there's also NOTHING which leads us to believe the following is anywhere near 100% reliable. As with any rumor, it's best to take it with a huge pinch of salt...
Insider news: Benedict Cumberbatch of the BBC's "Sherlock" is being looked for an unknown role in a future Marvel Studios film.
With filming currently well underway, it's highly unlikely that this has anything to do with
The Avengers, so could Marvel Studios be looking at Cumberbatch for a character like Doctor Strange or Ant-Man? With the success of
Sherlock and the recent news that the actor had joined the cast of
The Hobbit, it wouldn't be a huge shock for them to give him a leading role! Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place!
