As announced last Thursday, eFX Collectibles have acquired the rights to develop replicas based on Marvel Comics properties, kicking things off with this summer's long-awaited big screen assembly of The Avengers. While we got an early look at replicas of the headgear for the movie's "Big Three," in addition to Captain America's mighty shield, eFx have now revealed an early look at the replica for Thor's trusty hammer, Mjolnir.

Showcasing exactly how the God of Thunder's favored weapon differentiates from it's appearance in last summer's THOR blockbuster, check out the efx Mjolnir prop replica down below!

More prop replicas will be revealed at this year's WonderCon event, which will be held in Anaheim, California, March 16-18. For those who don't have an eye for detail, here's what Mjolnir looked like in 2011's Thor movie:

Marvel Studios presents in association with Paramount Pictures “Marvel’s The Avengers”--the super hero team up of a lifetime, featuring iconic Marvel super heroes Iron Man, the Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow. When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, Director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. Spanning the globe, a daring recruitment effort begins.

Starring Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L. Jackson, & directed by Joss Whedon from a screenplay by Joss Whedon, “Marvel’s The Avengers” is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series “The Avengers,” first published in 1963 and a comics institution ever since. Prepare yourself for an exciting event movie, packed with action and spectacular special effects, when “Marvel’s The Avengers” assemble on May 4, 2012. The film is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. In addition to "Marvel's The Avengers," Marvel Studios will release a slate of films based on the Marvel characters including "Iron Man 3" on May 3, 2013!; and “Thor 2” on November 15, 2013.

@mothman Don't remind me how dumb it is that the hammer is different but yet the same hammer. It looks too cool. I can't admire it and face-palm myself at the same time.

Well, you certainly couldn't use it with one of those cheap ass pajama costumes. $400.00 hammer, $5.00 costume. The sound of me laughing; priceless.

Looks pretty good. Much as it is in the comics - a large head - fairly short handle wrapped in what appears to be leather with a leather thong at the end.

Be careful with it! - you have there a replica of one of the greatest weapons known to man or god! The mighty Mjolnir!
