And to kick things off, Warner Bros. has officially revealed the movie's impressive cast. Among the list of stars attached to the film, are several DC Universe veterans, such as Jason O’Mara as Batman, Jennifer Morrison as Selina Kyle, Jerry O’Connell as Superman, Rebecca Romijn as Lois Lane, Rainn Wilson as Lex Luthor, Sean Maher as Nightwing, Bruce Thomas as Jim Gordon, Stuart Allan as Damian Wayne, and James Garrett as Alfred.

Additional cast members include Maury Sterling as Thomas Elliot, Geoffrey Arend as Riddler, Vanessa Williams as Amanda Waller, Jason Spisak as Joker, Adam Gifford as Bane, Dachie Alessio as Lady Shiva, Peyton List as both Batgirl and Poison Ivy, and Tara Strong as a Reporter.

Ugh. This would be better if it was in the Bruce Timm animated universe instead of the new 52. I'll watch it either way.

@zachman2013 - But that couldn't happen. There was no Jason Todd in the DCAU.

is this still in their New 52 style? that's a shame, Hush is one of the few Batman stories I own in its entirety and the art is really f*cking good. this could've benefited from, at least, trying to approach it. but oh well, as long as the adaptation itself is good.

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - The biggest issue is the budget cuts post flashpoint. Young Justice S3 also looks to have been a victim of them, by moving to the DC Universe app, but it's not in every episode as some look a lot better than others. Most DCAU films are just not as compelling as the ones that came before, though most of them are pretty enjoyabale. They should really move out of the New 52 era.

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - new 52 animation seems more mature and DCAU is too kids friendly

@zeon00 - I don't want it to look like the DCAU or the new 52. I want it to look like Jim Lee's art.

Ugh I hate this style of DC animation. Good cast tho.

IDK why everyone is hating on the DC Animated Movie universe. Those films aren't bad. On the plus side, it means Jason O'Mara gets to voice Batman in this. The best Batman voice since Conroy.

@BlackBeltJones - I didn't really like Peter Weller's take on Batman in TDKR. He was just a little flat and some of the lines that needed to be delivered with a bit of punch just lacked it.

@Nightwing1015 - O'mara is the WORST person to ever voice the character.

@Jcool - I don’t know if I’d consider him the worst, but I can’t stand O’Mara’s Batman. It’s actually been the main reason I don’t watch these movies. It’s so distracting and forced it takes me out every time he speaks.

I’d love for Bruce Greenwood to do it again. His take suits the part and never came across as an imitation or trying too hard.

@Nightwing1015 - O'Mara's Batman sounds old, thin, frail, no fire and passion and power behind it. Never liked it.

@bcom - Ben McKenzie was quite flat too. It's odd because I think he'd make a great Batman in a live action TV show, but his role in Year One was pretty awful.

@Nightwing1015 - Not everyone. I like DCAU, but it can be a lot better though. My favorites so far are Flashpoint, Death of Superman and Reign of Supermen.

@Nightwing1015 - The animation style is horrid these days. That's the main gripe I have.

@bcom - Michael Ironside was better.

@bcom - I took that flatness as a his Bruce being an older man. 50s Bruce is a sort of monotonous. He's frank in and gruff in an almost toneless way. I can see where you're coming from though.

That's just how I saw it. Peter, being an older man hinself, played it like that; it sounded the way I would expect a Bruce who is pushing 60 to sound: tired, wearisome, and abrupt.
Nightwing1015
Nightwing1015 - 3/28/2019, 7:27 AM
@BlackBeltJones - I prefer O'Mara's voice to this one. Because of TDKR I associate his voice with an older Batman. But I think we can agree Conroy is the best and will never be topped.
Nightwing1015
Nightwing1015 - 3/28/2019, 7:28 AM
@Jcool - O'Mara's voice certainly isn't the worst.

GhostDog

@Nightwing1015 - Conroy is the GOAT for sure. I think Sisto is underrated and is probably the second best Batman voice, maybe tied up with Bruce Greenwood, who also doesn't get enough love. Weller is purely an older Bruce, but I just love the voice.

ROGER CRAIG SMITH (ARKHAM SERIES) does great work as well.

@BlackBeltJones - Arkham Origins is such an underrated game. It's got a really great story.

Wish they would've gone with the animation style from Under the Red Hood! And bring back Bruce Greenwood as Batman! I dont mind O'mara at all, but I really am not a fan of the continuation of the New 52 style.

[frick]in New 52 shit...

Should've been a seperate solo film like TDKR; divorced from this animated universe.
