BATMAN FOREVER Honest Trailer Makes Fun of Joel Schumacher's Cheesy '90s Movie

In anticipation of Batman's next big screen appearance in Justice League, Screen Junkies has released an honest trailer for the "ecstacy-soaked fever dream of the mid-90s," Batman Forever.

The video cracks jokes about Val Kilmer's take on the character, as well as the ridiculous villains Two-Face and the Riddler. And don't worry, there's also plenty of gags to be made about Chris O'Donnell's portrayal of Robin.

While the mid-'90s were a pretty strange time for Batman, the trailer doesn't forget to mention that this was all part of the long road that lead us to The Dark Knight.

Batman Forever > Nolan trilogy

...said everyone. Almost as good as the Academy Award winning SUICIDE SQUAD.

I still dig Batman Forever. Some horrible stuff for sure but Carrey was great and it was filled with awesome moments.

There's a passable film buried in that mess, at the time it was the first Batman film to sort of focus on why Bruce Wayne is who he is (apart from the far superior "Mask of the Phantasm"

@BigMikeReviews - It always felt like those early Bat films had an actual comics fan (or at least a BTAS fan) working as an intern who was tasked to write up a draft or a pitch or something, and then the credited writers took it and tossed out chunks of it to accommodate their horrible idea of what a comic book movie should have been.

For instance, I cannot imagine that the person who included Mister Freeze's touching origin from the animated series was the same one who thought that every line he had in "Batman and Robin" should be some kind of cold pun.

@Chewtoy - lol. Oh yeah...those ice puns..forget it. BATMAN & ROBIN is actually hilarious if you are high. If you're not high...pretty insulting movie.

Ever version of batman has had something that I very much liked, having seen this and b&r as a kid, I always thought of them as really fun movies, and while I do see their faults, I have certain parts of them that I like, however objectively bad the movies are

@Kevwebsz -

I've always maintained that Eisenberg was initially cast as the Riddler in BvS, but with all the constant changes and rewriting, they decided to combine what they had written for the Riddler into the character they had written for 'Lex Luthor, Jr.'

Thus, the weird portrayal of Luthor in BvS was created.

Batman Forever had a lot of problems, but I don't think Val Kilmer was one of them.

Lol. God that video made me laugh. Batman Forever was pretty good. Two-Face was really horrible and you could tell he was trying desperately to copy Nicholson's Joker. Carrey was actually fun in the film and should have been the sole focus. No need for Two-Face. Forever had some good moments in it...but it was played for camp. BATMAN & ROBIN however was god awful...but I do think Clooney would have made a great Batman but the material they gave him was atrocious. The Bat-credit card...ok...I am done.
