Netflix is assembling quite a cast for its upcoming Greek mythology series, Kaos. The show recently lost Hugh Grant to a scheduling conflict, with Jeff Goldblum (Jurassic Park, Thor: Ragnarok) stepping in to replace the Paddington 2 star as the father of the Gods, Zeus. Now, the highly-coveted role of Medusa has also been filled.
According to Deadline (via SFFGazette), Debi Mazar (Goodfellas, Entourage, Batman Forever) will play the legendary Gorgon, who was cursed to turn anyone her gaze fell upon to stone. Versions of this character have appeared in various mediums over the years, but she will probably be best known from Clash of the Titans.
Described as "a darkly comedic and contemporary reimagining of Greek mythology, exploring themes of gender politics, power, and life in the underworld," the project will also star Janet McTeer as Hera, David Thewlis as Hades, Cliff Curtis as Poseidon, Killian Scott as Orpheus, Aurora Perrineau as a mortal named Riddy, Misia Butler as Caneus, Leila Farzad as Ari, Nabhaan Rizwan as Dionysus.
Billie Piper will also make a cameo appearance, but her character has not been revealed.

"Zeus’ once reliable brother, Hades, God of the Underworld, is secretly losing his grip on his dark dominion. There is a backlog of dead waiting to be processed and they are growing restless. Each one has a very different role to play, and any one of them may be destined to bring down the God."
Production on the 8-part series is currently underway in Spain.
