(DISCLAIMER: THIS CAST IS BASED ON HOW I READ CERTAIN CHARACTERS IN THE ALL*STAR BATMAN AND ROBIN COMIC. KEVIN CONROY AND MARK HAMILL, WHILE ICONIC IN THEIR ROLES, ARE NOT THE VERSIONS OF THESE CHARACTERS I IMAGINED WHILE READING, I’M NOT CASTING THIS COMPARED TO ANY OTHER BATMAN CANON, JUST HOW I READ THEIR VOICES AND HOW I WROTE THEIR VOICES IN MY OUTLINE.)

Bruce Wayne/Batman [Height: 6’ 2”, Age: 30’s]: Billionaire Prince of Gotham. Lost his parents at age 8. When that happened he was never the same. It bred his obsession to hunt and hurt criminals. He studied the worlds of criminology and martial arts, he travelled the world to learn and returned to Gotham starting his One Man War on Crime. He became The Batman. The effect turned him into something else. He has been driven to be nothing but Batman.

Teddy Sears [Notable Works: CW’s The Flash, American Horror Story (2011), 24: Legacy]: His voice is absolutely the voice I heard when reading Frank Miller’s (Younger) Batman. He’s got this naturally strong voice that works for Bruce Wayne but he can get gruff and make it sound somewhat clint eastwood-y. He’s a great actor and it took me a while to get too him but listening to his voice I knew he was Batman.

Richard “Dick” Grayson/Robin [Height: 5’ 3”, Age: 12]: The young ward of Bruce Wayne, who witnessed his parents murdered. Drafted into Batman’s war he finds himself being an anchor Batman, softening him and giving him more humanity.

Chandler Riggs [Notable Works: The Walking Dead, Get Low, Mercy]: He’s got a great voice for a Teenager and He’s actually a good actor. He’s really impressed me on the later seasons of Walking Dead and I think he has the feeling of Frank Miller’s Take on Robin in his voice and it’s

Alfred Pennyworth [Height: 6’ 0”, Age: 50’s-60’s]: Bruce Wayne’s oldest and most trusting friend. Alfred carries a fatherly relationship with Bruce, having raised Bruce most of his master’s life. He’s a strong personality and every bit as certain in his actions.

David Hyde Pierce [Notable Works: Frasier, A Bug’s Life, The Good Wife]: While Not British, he is the voice I’ve always heard reading Alfred. He’s got a very calm nuanced voice. He has a great sense of comedic timing for Alfred’s Trademark sarcasm as well as having the capabilities of giving very heartfelt and emotionally deep monologues.

Barbara Gordon/Batgirl [Height: 5’ 5”, Age: 16]: Daughter of Commissioner Gordon, finally moved into Gotham after Staying with her Grandparents during the events of Year One. She has a serious idolization for Batman, inspiring her too become Batgirl!

Ariel Winter [Notable Works: Modern Family, Sofia The First, Final Fantasy Type-0 HD]: She’s got the voice of a young Barbara Gordon. She has a very youthful voice that plays to the character well. I can certainly hear her voice coming out of Barbara Gordon it’s the voice I heard.

Commissioner James Gordon [Height: 6’ 0”, Age: 40’s]: Commissioner of the Gotham City Police Department, He’s a gruff person with a die-hard dedication to the letter of the law, who trusts Batman more than he feels he morally should.

Michael T. Weiss [Notable Works: The Pretender, Young Justice, Justice League]: Michael is an awesome actor, I have watched his work for years, the Pretender being one of my favorite shows. He’s got a strong voice and could have played Batman in the 90s. He’s got the voice I look for in Gordon, he does strong work and could certainly play this role perfectly.

Vicki Vale [Height: 5’ 9”, Age: 30’s]: Gotham Gossip reporter who after the events of the Grayson’s Murder gets pulled into the darker version of Gotham City. She begins investigating the darker part of Gotham with help of the Question.

Sarah Michelle Gellar [Notable Works: Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Star Wars Rebels, Robot Chicken]: Sarah is a wonderful actress. She does an amazing job in her voice work and has really established herself in the animation world with some strong talent. She does wonderful work and could certainly pull of both the seductive side as well as the PTSD/Darker side.

Clark Kent/Superman [Height: 6’ 3”, Age: 30’s]: The classic Superman, Born on Krypton, raised in Kansas. He’s the classic American architype of the perfect Citizen in tights who has gotten angry with Batman going all halfcocked. Unaware of how Batman affects the people of Gotham, just that the government doesn’t like him and feels Batman should fall in line.

David Boreanaz [Notable Works: Angel, Justice League: The New Frontier, Bones]: David is a great actor and does wonderful work. He’s got the classic sounding voice and the upright manner for the role. He once turned down the role so it would be great to see him take a crack at it.

Diana Prince/Wonder Woman [Height: 6’ 2”, Age: 30’s]: A ball busting super-woman. She feels that society is too offended and that Women are just perpetuating it. She feels Batman is a psycho and thinks he should be killed.

Stana Katic [Notable Works: Batman: Arkham City, Superman: Unbound, Castle]: She’s got a strong Woman’s voice and can do a wonderful impression and does a wonderful job in her performances and Has an amazing voice for the role.

Hal Jordan/Green Lantern [Height: 6’ 1”, Age: 30’s]: Test Pilot turned into the Milky Way’s Top Cop. He has mixed feelings about Batman, feeling like he could be a use for the Justice League.

Alan Tudyk [Notable Works: I Robot, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Justice League War]: Alan is a fantastic actor, he’s got a great voice but I can’t help but feel his Superman was a waste. I think he’s a great actor and I feel like he could really be great at Green Lantern.

Patrick O’Brien/Plastic Man [Height: 6’ 1”, Age: 30’s]: Former Criminal and Junky who was rehabilitated by Batman after an accident involving a Chemical explosion. Since then he’s turned a new leaf and became the Batman’s spy in the Justice League.

Michael Rosenbaum [Notable Works: Justice League, Justice League Doom, Smallville]: Michael has been my choice for Plastic Man for a while. He’s a wonderful actor, has the voice for it and would absolutely be perfect for Plastic Man.

Vic Sage/The Question [Height: 5’ 10”, Age: 30’s]: Investigative Reporter and vigilante. He trust Batman, often working together.

Christopher McDonald [Notable Works: Superman: The Animated Series, Batman Beyond, Beware the Batman]: Christopher has the absolute perfect voice for how I read the Question from Denny O’Neil’s run and it’s how I wrote the Question in this outline, Christopher is a wonderful actor and perfect for the role.

Mayor Oliver Queen/Green Arrow [Height 6’ 1”, Age: 30’s]: Mayor of Star City the Billionaire Oliver Queen who doubles as the Crusader Green Arrow. He joins Batman’s Justice League as a way of sticking it too Superman, long before they establish a long standing friendship that will fall hard.

Justin Kirk [Notable Works: Justice League War, Tyrant, Weeds]: He’s got a great voice for it. He was great as Green Lantern but it wasn’t Green Lantern’s voice. He does amazing work and I think he could absolutely be perfect as Green Arrow. He has a younger tone than the Dark Knight Returns version but does amazing work.

Dinah Lance/Black Canary [Height: 5’ 8”, Age: 30’s]: A bar owner and Vigilante active in Gotham City, inspired by the  Batman to Fight back.

Rosario Dawson [Notable Works: Sin City, Justice League Vs Teen Titans, Rachet and Clank]: Rosario is a wonderful actress with a strong voice and a cool demeanor about her characters. They’re always at least either interesting or likeable and more often both And I think she would add some element of that too her take on Black Canary.

Jocko-Boy Vanzetti [Height: 5’ 10”, Age: 40’s]: A thug hired by The Joker to kill John and Mary Grayson.

John DiMaggio [Notable Works: Futurama, Batman: Under The Red Hood, Zootopia]: He’s got an amazing pedigree as a voice actor, he’s constantly working and does amazing work. He’s got a great scumbag-y voice and could certainly do this role with ease.

Dr. Harleen Quinzel/Harley Quinn [Height: 5’ 8”, Age: 20’s]: A Resident Psychologist operating out of Arkham as an underling who the Joker turns into his murderious girlfriend Harley  Quinn.

Tara Strong [Notable Works: Batman: Arkham City, Batman: Arkham Knight, Infinite Crisis]: She’s picked up the role after Arleen Sorkin retired from it and she has done an amazing job, She is the new voice of Harley and casting anyone else even for a Frank Miller-esq Version seems unnecessary.

The Joker [Height: 6’ 2”, Age: 30’s]: The Joker, a Sociopathic killer who Haunts Batman, having a deep relationship with Gotham City and a love-hate relationship with Batman.

Zachary Quinto [Notable Works: Heroes, American Horror Story, The Slap]: I actually had him in mind from the beginning. I get why people cast him as Scarecrow but I saw his work in American Horror Story and making sure it felt right. His work as Oliver Thredson in American Horror Story moves and sounds exactly as I imagined the Frank Miller sounding in his youth. I can feel the chills at the Idea of him delivering the line “I love you in My own Special Way.” I think he’s got the perfect voice for it I think he has the Mannerisms for it, and I think he would have so much fun and masterfully play a darker version of the Joker that Frank wrote. It would be perfect.

Thanks to DCNoob122 for informing me I used an incorrect image, and thanks too SebsCso for the image of Tara used in this cast.

Good fan cast, i know everyone hates this comic but i found it entertaining

@Obi2 - I never knew people hated All-Star Batman and Robin. I heard about it, but never really delved into it. But the whole plot sounds like it could work for a DCAU film.

@MikeZ - Most people hate it. Personally, I thought it had terrible writing and characterization. The art was good, though.

Great fan cast, but your story has one problem. This isn't made for a trilogy, it's made for a movie. Your "parts" don't have a beginning middle and end, and sure wouldn't fill 75 minutes. All Star Batman and Robin should be one film.

I've always loved this book, I don't get why all the fanboys hate it. It's an elseworlds story, get over it.

@BobGarlen - I assume by your profile picture you're an Archer fan. I'd like to throw out H. Jon Benjamin as All-Star Batman. Him and Archer have a lot of personality traits in common. If he just made his voice a little deeper while in the suit, he'd be perfect.

@kong - I have always wanted H. Jon Benjamin to voice Deadpool.

@BobGarlen - Holy shit that would be awesome.

Imagine an Archer/Deadpool crossover. That'd be so amazing.

- I'll probably check the script out later.
- Hey, it's no problem if you're not gonna use the DCAU vets. Most of the DCAU movies don't use them frequently.
- I'm not familiar with Mr. Sears' voice, so I can't judge on him being a good voice for Batman.
- Chandler Riggs needs to tone down his grit before he can play a fun character like Dick Grayson. But I wouldn't be against it all!
- Ah, you used my Batgirl choice from three years ago! If Ariel can play Carrie Kelly, she can do Barbara Gordon with ease!
- What characters did Weiss voice in the cartoons listed in his notable works?
- Your Arkhamverse Vicki Vale choice returns!
- Haven't seen David voice a DC character for a while. I'm not sure about Superman, but... okay.
- Stana Katic fits Wonder Woman the most because of her Greek heritage!
- I can probably see Alan as Hal Jordan, but I can't help but feel Nathan Fillion should come back, probably for the sake of a Castle reunion with Stana, and that he does incredibly well voicing him. Oh well, this isn't the mainline DCAU (if there is one).
- Great Plastic Man choice. Nice to see people giving Rosenbaum plenty of shots in casts!
- Odd choice for Green Arrow. I would've been happy to see Alan Tudyk voice him again.
- I enjoyed Rosario's take on Wonder Woman (she did better than Michelle Monaghan!), and I could probably see her doing just as well as Black Canary.
- Can't hate John DiMaggio!
- Well, I couldn't imagine anyone else voicing Harley Quinn better than Tara Strong, although Hynden Welch stepped up her game from The Batman to Assault on Arkham.
- If Zachary Quinto is up for V.A. duties, hell, why not have him play Joker?

Great fancast! About time we had a good one on this site! Now let's see if MrBlueSky can be spurred into doing one himself after this!

Sheesh, who knew Teddy Sears would be a good fit for Crazy Steve?

Having followed a series of retrospective reviews of the comic in CBR's "Pipeline" column, I can tell you had a good eye when casting all the characters.

(On another note, how'd you figure out the current photo uploading options? I haven't been able to make heads or tails of them.)

Great cast, if I'm not mistaking yourpick for Barbara did the voice of Robin in Dark Knight Returns. That solidifies your pick for me.
