Not sure which mag this was scanned from just yet, but as usual it was picked up by the eagle-eyed lads over at the TDKR Facebook page. We will update when we have the details.

Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ "The Dark Knight Rises" is the epic conclusion to filmmaker Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy. The screenplay is written by Christopher Nolan and Jonathan Nolan, story by Christopher Nolan & David S. Goyer. The film is produced by Emma Thomas, Christopher Nolan and Charles Roven, who previously teamed on “Batman Begins” and the record-breaking blockbuster "The Dark Knight." The executive producers are Benjamin Melniker, Michael E. Uslan, Kevin De La Noy and Thomas Tull, with Jordan Goldberg serving as co-producer. The film is based upon characters appearing in comic books published by DC Comics. Batman was created by Bob Kane.

No I think The Bat is what it has been called so far on toy packaging etc, it may not be in the actual movie but it's the name we are going with for now.

Oh look, they took a hunter-killer from THE TERMINATOR and painted it black, and named it "THE BAT", now that's what you call creative. LOL. Jk

"The Bat"
Nice and Concise.

They probably call it that because it flies. And hes Batman haha.

I dont see the characters sitting around coming up with some Super Awsome comicbook name.

Gordon: Hey Batman, super cool new vehicle

Batman:Yeah, hey do you want to no what its called?

Gorddon: Um, not really, you know since Bane is basically butt raping Gotham right now.

Batman: Oh F[ri]ck that, Its called the SuperSonic Batjet. Pretty Badass huh?

Gordon: Batman, I uh, I've got to tell ya...I honestly don't give a shit.

The Bat...whatever, I don't think it's how it will be referred to in the movie, anyway. (Was the Batpod ever called the Batpod in The Dark Knight?) It looks [frick]ing awesome to me.

Honestly, batman is supposed to have an ironman like suit... It would be hot if he broke that out for Bane... Which is what he's supposed to do anyway..

@yossarian
I guess that is just one of his character's little quirks.

Such as The Joker smacking his lips.

I think that it's genious when actors add little personal touches like that.

@Yossarian

Christopher Nolan Stated in an interview that The Dark Knight Rises was influenced by the French Novel Les Miserables. This in turn is the reason why Bane poses as such, and why he wears that large overcoat.
Mansuper
Mansuper - 5/24/2012, 10:33 AM
Les Miserables is about the French revolution. The plot of TDKR seems to involve themes of opression and revolt. Similarly Les Miserables focuses on the struggles of ex-convict Jean Valjean and his experience of redemption, which could be likened to Bruce Wayne's story in TDKR.

So glad that the Batcave still looks like a cave. I was afraid it would lose that quality.

That proto-batcave in TDK was non cave like. It was kind of dull.

@Mansuper - I thought Nolan and his brother said they took inspiration from A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens? That would make sense based on what we've seen. Although maybe they also had Les Miserables as some kind of inspiration?

Anyone else think Bale is looking pretty thin in most of these trailers? I'm wondering if they're going to do a bulk up montage as he tries to ready himself back into wearing the suit? He just doesn't look to be in very good shape.
Greengo
Greengo - 5/24/2012, 11:50 AM
Mugwamp he is thin cause he was defeated and locked up, that's probably why we see him doing push ups to get back in shape before he:

"When they reboot this shit....they need to bring back Batman without the Iron Man suit."

I do miss the traditional yellow symbol and belt as in the image you posted...and the actual bat car as in the background...and the bat wing.

Still don't care for the look of The Bat. It's such an aerodynamically-challenged looking contraption for something that is supposed to fly.

Cool, but the Tumbler is still my favorite Bat-vehicle. I could really do some damage on the road with that piece of art, especially with so many annoying crazy people on the road.
