A little over a decade ago, writers Paul Dini ("Batman: The Brave and the Bold") and Alan Burnett ("Green Lantern: First Flight") were hired by Warner Bros. to write a screenplay for a live-action film adaptation of the popular animated series,
Batman Beyond. Warner Bros. even hired the
Remember the Titans director, Boaz Yakin, to co-write and direct. A year later, WB would put the project on hold, going in a different direction. Dini discusses that project with Kevin Smith, and his pitch for a Ra's al Ghul-oriented Batman film that was never made.
