Last week, Warner Bros. released an official announcement highlighting the locations where The Dark Knight Rises six minute prologue will be available to watch. It will be shown only in select 70MM IMAX theaters before Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, but this ultimately means that many won't be able to see the footage despite being located near to regular digital IMAX theaters. So the question is, are you planning on travelling the extra distance to see the preview? Even if you live near one of the few screens showing it, are you interested enough that you're willing to pay extra? Would you rather not spoil six minutes of the movie before next July?!
While it's understandable that Christopher Nolan and Warner Bros. want the prologue to be viewed in the best format possible, it's hard to imagine that they won't release
The Dark Knight Rises in regular IMAX theaters next July. Would it really have hurt for them to screen the prologue in those screens too, even if that meant they issued a warning beforehand to make it clear that it wasn't being screened in the optimum format? Be sure to share your thoughts on all this and more in the usual place and check back soon for the results.
