Resurfaced Screen Tests For THE DARK KNIGHT TRILOGY Show Christian Bale In Val Kilmer's Batsuit

Screen tests for The Dark Knight Trilogy have again started doing the rounds online, and as well as showing Christian Bale and Cillian Murphy in Val Kilmer's Batsuit, a number of actors are highlighted.

The Dark Knight Trilogy was nothing short of amazing, and while director Christopher Nolan's grounded take on Batman and Gotham City wasn't to everyone's liking, it's not hard to see why they're considered among the best comic book movies of all-time.

Now, some previously released screen tests have started doing the rounds again which are an absolute must-see (if you've not already checked them out before now).

The video kicks off with Christian Bale, Cillian Murphy, and Eion Bailey all suited up in Val Kilmer's Batsuit from Batman Forever, which looks surprisingly cool despite being so dated. Keep watching, though, and you'll also see screen tests for Anne Hathaway's Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Tom Hardy's Bane, and Aaron Eckhart's Harvey Dent/Two-Face.

As we mentioned, this has popped up online in the past, but it still makes for fascinating viewing. That's particularly the case for Nolan's grounded version of Catwoman who was seemingly going to have a slightly different look in The Dark Knight Rises at one point.

Ben Affleck took over as the Caped Crusader once Bale was done, but it's now down to Robert Pattinson to take up the mantle in Matt Reeves' The Batman (where Zoe Kravitz will suit up as the new Catwoman). Unfortunately, production on that movie has been put on hold due to COVID-19.

@Imfunnyhow - Michael Keaton will ALWAYS (IMO) be the best live action Batman/Bruce Wayne.

The Dark Knight Rises was shite when compared to Batman Begins and The Dark Knight.

@marvel72 - Honestly, I love TDKR.

Not as fast paced and action oriented as TDK, but still a perfect conclusion.

It's the same comparison for me with Endgame relative to Infinity War.

Adam West remains the only guy who ever played a version of Batman perfect & perfectly fit the part physically & vocally.

Bale is second. [frick] the rest!

@TheJustinHammer - Did I do a flyby?

Adam West was 100% perfect for the version of Batman he played.

Keaton had a nice but immobile costume. He sucked as wig wearing nerd Bruce Wayne. His cowl was originally too big, then in Returns it was so tight his fat face bulged out of it. He was a short, weak Batman.

Kilmer phoned it in.

Clooney was a disaster.

Bale was good in his first two films.

Affleck was possibly worse than Clooney. He actually looked like Clooney a few times.

@ManDeth - Bale was great throughout TDK trilogy.

@ManDeth - Hmm, not assure about West's costume, but i will say that Julie Newmar hands down was the slinkiest and hottest GOAT Catwoman.
