SPOILERS: The Identity Of DC's New Post-CONVERGENCE 'Batman' Revealed
A page from DC's upcoming Free Comic Book Day offering, "Divergence", has leaked online; and it reveals the identity of the mech-suited Dark Knight that will be featured in Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo's post-Convergence Batman comic. Click on once you're okay with major SPOILERS...
When DC's Convergence event finishes up, Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo will launch a brand new Batman series... but it won't be Bruce Wayne in that much-maligned robotic suit. CBR has been sent a scanned page from the Divergence FCBD release, and it reveals that none other than a moustache-less Jim Gordon will be taking Wayne's place as Gotham City's new Caped Armoured Crusader. Plus, it seems he'll have the backing of the GCPD.
Bleeding Cool have added a few more details, and it seems Gordon is responding to the question "are you ready to be Batman?" This is a pretty big deal and is bound to stir up some controversy, but I think Snyder and Capullo have earned the benefit of the doubt with most fans. It does beg the question: if Gordon is Batman, what the heck happened to Bruce Wayne? I guess we'll have to wait until after Convergence to find out.
