THE BATMAN Solo Film Slated For 2019?

DC's rumored Comic Con slate left many fans disappointed, as the company's most profitable hero, Batman, was absent from the list. But it looks like the Dark Knight won't be sitting on the sidelines for too long! Hit the jump to find out why!

According to Latino Review's El Mayimbe, Ben Affleck's Batman will get his first solo outing on the big screen in 2019 after the rumored Man of Steel 2 is released the previous year. The site also believes that the film will be titled The Batman! El Mayimbe went on to say that this is the studio's plan as of now and is still subject to change. He also warned that the film is unlikely to be announced at any Comic Con soon.

As of now Ben Affleck does not have any directorial outings after 2016's Live By The Night so would be free to direct the film as some have predicted.

What do you think? Is five years too long to wait for a solo Batman film? Who would you like to see at the helm of our new big screen Batman, would Affleck cut it? Share your thoughts below!

Man, I was hoping for a casting scoop for other Leaguers. Anyone with half a brain could have guessed that DC would make another Batman film eventually, and that Ben would probably direct. Interesting that they're not *really* filming the movies back to back. They're taking a break for basically a year. So maybe we actually won't get any JL Casting at comic-con this year.

So Ben will be the same age as Robert Downey Jr. was when he did Iron Man 2. Oh wow, what a bummer. SO OLD! -_-

Just a rumor but hoping it's true.

Another Batman film would be great but it would seem that audiences would have to wait for a long time to see The Dark Knight in his own solo film to battle more villains.

They could always just shoot three batman movies back to back like Lotr or Hobbit and then release them at different times.

Also wasn't everyone complaining that DC/warner bros relies to much on batman anyways?

If you consider that Batman will be one of the main characters in BvS and JL, then 5 eyars might not be too long, but I highly doubt WB will wait that long, Batman is their biggest DC character.
