THE BATMAN Star Robert Pattinson Rumored To Have Met With Kevin Feige For Possible MCU Role

Yes, he is currently The Batman, but that doesn't mean Robert Pattinson couldn't make the jump to the Marvel Cinematic Universe at some point in the future...

Could our current big-screen Caped Crusader eventually find his way to the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

According to scooper Daniel Richtman, The Batman star Robert Pattinson has met with Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige about possibly taking on a role in a future MCU project.

As far-fetched as this might sound, it's worth noting that the studio takes meetings with a lot of in-demand actors (or their agents) without entering any sort of official negotiations for specific characters, so it's entirely possible that Pattinson and Feige sat down to chat in a roundabout way about potentially collaborating down the line.

Pattinson is set to return as Bruce Wayne/The Dark Knight for The Batman sequel, and director Matt Reeves has said that he does hope to helm a third film. But we know that James Gunn and Peter Safran will eventually cast a new actor as the DCU's Batman for The Brave and the Bold Movie, so Pattinson may not be locked in to any long-term contract with Warner Bros./DC Studios.

That said, we recently learned that Pattinson is set to re-team with Tenet director Christopher Nolan for his next film, so if he is considering making the jump to the MCU, it probably won't be for quite some time.

Even so, there's already a lot of speculation and fan-casting online, and the character that most people seem to want Pattinson to play is none other than The Beyonder.

A recent rumor claimed that Marvel Studios is casting a "secret role" for Avengers: Doomsday, with the "well-known Marvel character" set to have a more significant role in Avengers: Secret Wars. Is there any chance this is the part Pattinson took a meeting about? Depending on what type of commitment the actor would need to make, it's always possible, but we wouldn't say it's very likely.

Are there any Marvel Comics characters you think Pattinson would be a good fit for? Let us know in the comments section.

Avengers: Doomsday will feature the return of Tony Stark/Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom. The movie arrives in theaters on May 1, 2026, followed by Avengers: Secret Wars on May 7, 2027. Both films will be directed by the Russo brothers, who also make their MCU return after helming Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.

"Being able to create stories and explore characters within the Marvel Universe fulfilled a life-long dream of ours, and we discovered a powerful connection with audiences in each film that we made. We’re thrilled to collaborate once again with Kevin, Lou and the entire Marvel team to bring this epic adventure in storytelling to new and surprising places for both the fans and ourselves”, said The Russos in a statement after the SDCC panel.

Have another look at some photos Downey Jr. shared to Instagram after the big reveal below.

@Matchesz - As long as they cast Cristin Milioti as Tigra.

@Skestra - particularly now that Lauren Velez is 60 years old, I’m sure we could still find something for her to do. Like be my sugar momma. My fiancé looks like her, that actually scares me because I sense that same craziness… What were we talking about? Oh yeah, tigers.

This is the EXACT same play that DISNEY made when they decided to not go forward with Rian Johnsons STAR WARS Trillogy. Warners is Just lieing there heads off.

One off role. Maybe like an iron man variant in secret wars if this is true

@MyCoolYoung - one-off? Definitely if true, but I don't see it be an Iron Man variant. A Batman copy could be fun though (but just as unlikely).

Anything Coming from Daniel Richtman is nothing but Rumors with NO evidence. Just supposed to take his word for it.

... Really?

The actor who only does weirdo roles that give him an opportunity to experiment is going to play something in the relatively staid and rigidly homogenous MCU?

Sure. Whatever. I guess it got a click outta me.

@AllsGood - Yeah. I know.

I came here to point out that it was a stupid rumor on its face. As in, so ridiculous that it barely merited mentioning.

It's from Daniel Richtman, too. So, obviously bullsh*t.

@ObserverIO - 100%! I hadn’t even thought about him and to be honest, that makes total sense. Considering that he’s from “The Fant4stic” universe, that whole set up writes itself.

Unlikely, but I imagine when (and if) The Batman Part II is released, it'll be the last time he plays Batman so this would make sense
TheJok3r
TheJok3r - 11/26/2024, 12:01 AM
@HagridsHole1 - Both Reeves and HBO announced they're making part III and at least one more show.
HagridsHole1
HagridsHole1 - 11/26/2024, 12:04 AM
@TheJok3r -

I know.

Gunns DCU is going to damage Matt Reeves version of Batman, so I do not imagine he will get his third flick. Regardless of what Reeves has said, before the second film has even started filming 😅😂
TheJok3r
TheJok3r - 11/26/2024, 12:14 AM
@HagridsHole1 - Superman's box office next year will likely kill the DCU before it even starts, so I'm not worried in the slightest about Reeves' Batman.
HagridsHole1
HagridsHole1 - 11/26/2024, 12:42 AM
@TheJok3r -

Exactly correct!

Which will in turn lead them to cancelling whatever other DC related projects they have in the works. In and out of the DCU. I mean they've already had 4, I REPEAT 4 flops in a row in 2023, that's not including the 3 straight flops in a row the three years before that.

The Batman made money, but it didn't make Bank.

As soon as Superman is released and doesn't make the money it needs, there will, for sure be another "readjustment period" the DCU will be cancelled, save for whatever projects they've already completed and anything else DC related will be gone with the wind

The fact that they're releasing Part II alongside (supposedly) a DCU Batman is ridiculous, and will further damage Reeves' chances, which is why I presume the film was delayed in the first place

So I suppose it all depends on when Part II actually starts filming. If it begins filming before Superman is released (which I believe is the plan) then it's all good. If they wait till after superman has finished it's box office run (and I, like you fully believe it'll be a massive disappointment) then it'll be 'delayed' and then it'll be cancelled. We've seen this before so many times
TheJok3r
TheJok3r - 11/26/2024, 12:50 AM
@HagridsHole1 - The Batman made over $750 million on a limited 45 day theatrical window. Had it gotten the traditional 90 day window, it would've crossed the billion $ mark. No matter what Superman does, this version of Batman is safe, especially after the successful of Penguin and HBO wanting more shows. WB has a winner in this franchise, so there's absolutely no reason to cancel it. Superman under performing will just strengthen Reeves' position in the studio. Speaking of, they signed a 10 year first look deal with both him and Pattinson after The Batman released. They also went as far as to say both could make as many Batman projects as they want. WB is looking at Reeves as a very long term partner like what Nolan was to them.

@TheJok3r - that 10yr deal with Reeves and pattinson.. is that true?? why havent i heard about that until now??
MotherGooseUPus
MotherGooseUPus - 11/26/2024, 8:40 AM
@TheJok3r - well now... that is excellent news to me, at least in terms of Reeves Batverse and Pattinson. That changes the game for me, now i feel MUCH better about Part II and Part III with spinoffs being made and them not getting cancelled regardless of how the DCU performs
TheJok3r
TheJok3r - 11/26/2024, 8:44 AM
@MotherGooseUPus - There's nothing to worry about as long as the movies make money and the shows get high views, both of which were achieved by Batman I and Penguin. This is the only DC franchise WB managed to get off the ground since Nolan's trilogy, so if anything, it'll be even more secure if Gunn's plans fall through.
FrankenDad
FrankenDad - 11/26/2024, 1:03 PM
@TheJok3r - unfortunately that means nothing. Ask the completed Batgirl and Scooby Doo features. 😢
