THE BATMAN: The Dark Knight Takes On Catwoman In Latest Clip From Matt Reeves' Reboot

Another new clip from The Batman has been shared online, this time giving us a look at The Dark Knight (Robert Pattinson) interrupting Selina Kyle (Zoe Kravitz) as she attempts to rob a safe.

Clips from The Batman continue to find their way online, and while none of these short sneak peeks contain anything too spoilery, you might want to skip them if you'd rather go in as fresh as possible when the movie hits theaters less than two weeks from now.

Here, we see Selina Kyle (Zoe Kravitz) up to her old tricks as she attempts to crack a safe. The Dark Knight (Robert Pattinson) is waiting for her, however, and the two engage in a brief hand-to-hand struggle. Batman deflects Catwoman's attacks with ease, before pinning her down and swiping what looks like a passport from her pocket.

We know from the trailers that these two will ultimately join forces, but the characters have always had a love/hate relationship in the comics, so it only makes sense that they'd be at odds when they first meet.

"Two years of stalking the streets as the Batman (Robert Pattinson), striking fear into the hearts of criminals, has led Bruce Wayne deep into the shadows of Gotham City. With only a few trusted allies — Alfred Pennyworth (Andy Serkis), Lt. James Gordon (Jeffrey Wright) — amongst the city’s corrupt network of officials and high-profile figures, the lone vigilante has established himself as the sole embodiment of vengeance amongst his fellow citizens."

“When a killer targets Gotham’s elite with a series of sadistic machinations, a trail of cryptic clues sends the World’s Greatest Detective on an investigation into the underworld, where he encounters such characters as Selina Kyle/aka Catwoman (Zoë Kravitz), Oswald Cobblepot/aka the Penguin (Colin Farrell), Carmine Falcone (John Turturro), and Edward Nashton/aka the Riddler (Paul Dano). As the evidence begins to lead closer to home and the scale of the perpetrator’s plans becomes clear, Batman must forge new relationships, unmask the culprit, and bring justice to the abuse of power and corruption that has long plagued Gotham City.”

We recently learned that The Batman will be rated PG-13 for “strong violence, disturbing content, drug content, strong language, and some suggestive material.” The movie is set to hit theaters on March 4.

@BlackBeltJones - I'm surprised that Batman..."port polish" discussion hasn't restarted.

Between this clip and the one with Gordon I love that you can see he’s still new and learning how to be the Batman. For example, when he was running from the Gotham police he was running down the hallway frantically shoving people to evade. Bale’s Batman called in for bats to swarm him and it felt a little more effortless. I didn’t dislike the Bale Batman, and I like the way they’re differentiating this.

Also, when he was sparring with Catwoman, she sort of got tangled in his cape, and he had to move it. I’m sure there are challenges with wearing a cape (have you seen the incredibles?), and they incorporate it in nicely.

I loved Zoe’s hand movements at the safe. Very sexy and catlike IMO.

Lastly, for everyone concerned that this is going to stay too grounded, consider what Marvel started with in iron man: grounded, military application weapons that were within the realm of reason, and where we are now… talking trees, raccoons, giant dwarves, and all living gods. Everything marvel has done has felt believable and not shoehorned in, because they took their time establish things in the order they wanted.

I’m super excited to see what they did with this.

Unpopular opinion, but I haven't really liked their dynamic from what we've seen in the main trailers. Their interactions and Kravitz's lines just felt generic. Hoping its just the way everything's been cut so far.

@Kurne - I'm getting the feeling that Reeves really drew inspiration from every iteration of Batman (up to and including Adam West) but drew a lot of his visual language from Batman TAS, which is why every clip I see from this out of context always feels so weightless (if not lifeless). I think when watching a lot of stuff in the context and flow of the movie some things will be better, but I don't know how much context will actually help some of this stuff

Every time I see Batman fight in this movie

They really sold me some lies in that first teaser. At least Catwoman has got some moves

I'll say tho, Reeve's camera movements are top notch and I love how they seem to have focused on showing how collapsible and portable his gadgets are

Just went to my local theater MJR and NO one is buying advance tickets for The Batman. Thursday, Friday or Saturday all empty. Nothing like the Spiderman movie.

@DoubleD - To be fair it's still going to be a bit of time of theaters to stabilize. Spider-Man was the anomaly, not the sign of a new norm.

Itwasme
Itwasme - 2/22/2022, 11:26 AM
@DoubleD - not for theaters. Performance is still overall lackluster and volatile. Some places still have a lot of restrictions and for a large percentage of the population there is still a good amount of hesitancy. If the reviews are stellar, there might be a good uptick, but people need to be extra motivated. This summer things should stabilize.

@DoubleD - I have no dog in this fight. If anything I'm a bigger supporter of NWH. This Batman looks interesting on many levels, but it also feels a little dull. NWH was an anomaly which is why I think it deserves more recognition. It takes something really special to get people into theaters - especially during that time when the Omnicrom wave was hitting hardest.

However, that still doesn't mean that we can draw a lot of conclusions for other films. It's still not normal times, so we are not likely to see normal performance from most films.

@regularmovieguy - Great if true your post is missing a lot of information. Long-Range Box-Office Forecast is still tracking at $135,000,000 – $175,000,000 Domestic Opening Weekend.

Good money!

@regularmovieguy - Actually I'm smart. I buy tickets online every week for movies. When I went checked the local theaters to check on The Batman all that information was on the site. :)

Movie theaters want to make sure you got the right movie, time, date and auditorium.
