New Viral Dark Knight Sites Emerge

In their continuing attempt to bring viral marketing to a new level, Warner Bros. have published two more websites focusing around the upcoming Batman The Dark Knight. Mind you, they’re still in development and thus, not overly exciting.

WB has put a lot of work in to creating a whole heap of Gotham City websites. Everything from Gotham City Rail to The Gotham Times has appeared. Two more have just surfaced as well, the Gotham City Clerk website and the Gotham Election Board.

Both are in severe construction mode, with the latter having nothing more than the City of Gotham logo and a note saying “The Gotham Election Board will be implementing online voter registration later this year. Watch this site for details.”

The Gotham City Clerk website has little more, except a small tease that Roger Garcetti will be running against Harvey Dent for District Attorney. A quick Google search will also show you a few more websites where Garcetti’s name has popped up in the viral marketing campaign.

All in all, it is an interesting method of publicizing a new movie, but I’m still a little shaky on just what it is supposed to do except create a fictional location for Gotham to exist.
