Things I want to see in Batman 3

Things I want to see in Batman 3

Here is a list of items that I believe should be included in the third and final installment of Christopher Nolan's Batman series starring Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman.

Editorial Opinion

Let's get straight down to business...

1. INCLUSION OF MORE DCU CHARACTERS

Characters like Harvey Bullock, Renee Montoya, Vicki Vale, and Crispus Allen. Nolan has done a good job of including characters like these straight from the comics before, staying surprisingly close to the source considering the originality of the stories.

CHARACTERS ALREADY USED: Commisioner Loeb, Detective Flash, Sal Maroni, Carmine Falcone, Victor Zsasz, Henri Ducard, and Joe Chill.

2. REFERENCE TO FUTURE ADVENTURES

Nolan has said in recent interviews that he is VERY pleased with the ending of Batman 3 and how the character's journey end. This is something I am worried about. I want the ending to set up his future adventures as Batman with greater escalation of super villains. I hope that Bruce doesn't stop being Batman at the end of the 3rd movie because it will destroy any hope of a Justice League/Superman crossover.

I want the ending to be Gordon and Batman on the roof of Gotham PD with a new Bat-Signal similar to "Batman Begins" scene. Then on Gordon's radio a break out has occurred at Arkham Asylums's Level 5 wing: Joker, Scarecrow, and Killer Croc have all been released. This could include additional villains.

3. LINK TO THE REST OF THE DC UNIVERSE

If those of you can remember, CBM Editor Brent posted an article containing a plot outline of themes including a reference to Metropolis or Lex Luthor by Commisioner Gordon. This I HOPE is true. This would set fans a flurry in theatres and would indicate that a CROSSOVER IS POSSIBLE.

4. BATMOBILE

Batman can't exist without a Batmobile. I would be happy for the Tumbler to return as I really liked that design. A sports car like a Ferrari can't have all that tech fitted to it, whereas the Tumbler can. There are two after all, and Bruce Wayne has already used one. The Bat-Pod isn't enough.

5. NEW FEMALE INTEREST

I believe that the Nolans and Goyer have included a new love interest for Batman. It would make the story better as there has been a love interest in the previous two films. If there isn't, however, no biggy.yY ou can play Batman as being even more ruthless than ever due to the anger of Rachel's death. Vicki Vale or Selina Kyle could be easily placed into the film as a new love interest; and either would be interesting to see in comparison to Burton's films.

6. THE RIDDLER

I am one of the few that want to see the Riddler as a primary villain along with a secondary villain. If done correctly, it could potentially outdo Heath Ledger's incredible Joker performance. Robin Williams could pull this off. I feel in a performance similar to that he played in One Hour Photo and would really test Batman mentally and bring Batman's incredible detective skills to the table.

7. BANE & DEADSHOT

If you were having the Riddler, then you need a physical challenge to Batman. Who better than Bane? Question is, would Nolan go for it? I doubt he would go for it, but it would be interesting to see his take on the Venom powered powerhouse.

Deadshot can be used as a villain at the start of the film in the first act and first action sequence. He can be targeting Comm. Gordon after being hired by the mob and is captured by Batman.

8. HARLEY QUINN AND JOKER REFERENCE

This is what every fan wants to see: Harley Quinn taking a captured Riddler under her care to Arkham. Of course, she would then mention her working with the Joker.

These are very good ideas, you know the beauty behind the story of Batman it's adjustable and so who ever is the writer can really send the story any where, as long as it makes sense of course. Now I'm a Robin fan so I think the best ending would be that Bruce Wayne retires to his home and starts walking up the stairs, and Alfred interrupts him and says: "Oh by the way Master Bruce, there's an invitation to go a circus this weekend, they'll be introducing the famous Flying Graysons." Then Bruce says: "Sure, I'll call this secretary from the new firm, Selina Kyle to join me." That would get everyone worked up to really have another Batman movie.....which of course Chris said he will not do but leave it up to another director..

I agree totally I want the Riddler and Bane in the next movie I think that Deadshot should be an assassin hired by the police to get Batman.

TheGeekMan- I say keep Robin out of these movies and when Nolan is done with Batman just leave the character alone for a while focus on other superheroes.

Since he's successfully revamped characters from prior films: I second the Catwoman role. However, how about Catwoman and Bane? Certainly having Catwoman and someone who physically challenges Batman gives the story two lines to follow.
I think the push for the Riddler is too close to following in the Joker's footsteps. The next primary villain should be quite different in order for greater interest and action.
In all, you ideas are good. Harley should certainly be referenced or have a cameo.
Don't forget, Bale mentioned they would do this one and have talked about re-visiting in ten years or so. That says you certainly could follow "The Dark Knight Returns" novel sans Robin.

zack snyder shows interest in doing the dark knight returns, so i hope for the best. anyways, no one shud be worried about bat 3 cus what nolan says ends up being spectacular. all of his films overcome the previous film. inception is better then the dark knight just like tdk was better then begins.

the mafia tale will end in this movie, someone will get really personal with all of gotham instead of just batman, and catwoman needs to be in this movie

cool ideas but joker is unfortunately out of the question due to being disrespectful to heath according to nolan.

im gunna list somethings i feel, anybody please respond.

first off, good article.
wouldnt hush be a good villain along with the riddler, because that would add that extra layer of storytelling to the movie. it would interest the audience easily, seeing as hush is an old friend of bruces who teams up with riddler to exact revenge or justice upon him?

o and when did they reference zasz in the two movies????

When you think about the first 2 films that Nolan did, he put 2 villians in each. Both were targeted towards Batman, but one was conflicting with Batman and one with Bruce Wayne. Batman Begins had al Ghul against Bruce Wayne and Scarecrow against Batman. Dark Knight's Joker was against Batman and Two-Face against Bruce Wayne with the exception of Scarecrow's cameo. I would love to see this played out again in the third film.

ya purenatred but for the next one you can have two villains who are both against batman and bruce like hush and the riddler, thats what i was kinda saying. it goes well with the nolan formula you put.

Denn1s - 7/10/2010, 4:09 AM
@purenatred there were 3 villains in each films. forgetting zsasz? although it was more like a cameo like scarecrow in tdk

I really feel like Batman3 should be almost scary in regards to how dark it should be. Not all elements of the movie, but when looking at Bruce Wayne we should be afraid for him. It would almost be like the story of Darth Vader in Episode 3. DON'T FOERGET THIS IS STILL SOME WHAT HIS FORMATIVE YEARS AS BATMAN. I picture him having such a dark cloud over his life, due to the loss of his Parents(Family), Rachael(His Love) , Harvey( His Hope) and somewhat Ras' (His Teacher). This kind of grief and banishment from the city of Gothem(as mentioned in TDK) makes him almost a stalker. Someone who was so important is now always on the outside looking in.

This whole persona of "stalker" makes him more emotionally involved/ invested with the criminals that he chases, and in someways, subconciously attached to them (exclusively) with a closer relationship to the underworld of Gotham than the politcal part of it. Part 3 should span over the next 5-6 years of his life and tell multiple cases of his decent into darkness (only if done clever like in an opening 10 min. narravtives). This could gives us as fan the opportunity hear about his different villians he's fought, just to know that they exist even if we don't see them. The Batman we know now is good, but "this" explaination is the Batman that the character is legendary for. It will also cement and establish his character for any JLA movie conflicts, Hal Jordan, Superman, Green Arrow.

Thalia Ghul would have to be the "major female character" because she would tie into a story without much explaination needed as she already has history in the Nolanverse due to her father Ras. I feel like have Posion Ivy or Catwoman would have to be involved of a story if we knwo this will close the Nolan Trilogy. Anyone agree with my point?

MY PLOT
ok im going to go all out

the movie is going to obviously be the nolan batman movie style - more realistic
but after heath ledgers joker portrayel i know nobody will live up to that. i trust nolan to have great actors but i think the movie still needs to find a way to go out with a bang. im thinking there needs to be multiple villians Making the most out of the DC COMIC now terrorized city. the movie will have to be quite long but with so much goin on i doubt people will have a problem with that. i think the movie should have a few big name villians in the movie.that will excite people. the thing is the charectors will have to share the same level of importance in the film(Just idenified as villians) like the cartoon but it is known that they have created big names for themselves over the years not shown in the movie. catwoman would be like she is the cartoon sexy but less cheesy more hellbent more ignorant far from a hero, but as good as a hero gets in a city like this. she will be batmans love intrest and he has let her get away multiple times due to the city needing all the help it can get. he lets alot more slip by because thestory revolves around him not being able to control the city,he had his victories but he is exuasted and getting used to(conditioned)to being inadequate. crime is gothams theme. batman has jsut been slowing down the villians like he did to joker. the city hates him enough to where he cantstand on buildings any more he has to be indigenous like the villians. batman isnt giving up he is just unmotivated too used to the ongoing cycle. bruce wayne has no life he just signs checks and smiles at the public. the villians arent afraid of batman to much hes just a bother. they have become too common and too strong.when batman arrives the supervillians attitude is poor batman like a zombie forcing himself killing himself for a city that hes opposite of. the police bascilly just protect the higher class of gotham and are really the only force of good.but they dont cross into some neigherborhods such as the ones penguin rules. pengin is mob boss with no charm no enthusiasm sick obnoxious fat heartless money launderer who apprecites the finer things.not like joker. who defintly runs the city. a great actor no big name.who can give a perosnality that is selfish and unlikeable. he has never been touched he is far greater than the first mob boss from batmin begins. he allows the other villains to roam free and recieve henchman and weapons. riddler is the last villian batman faces who threatens to reveal his idenity and gives puzzles lucious fox and batman follow. the story ends with batman defeating riddler shortly after penguin. the movie never skips a beat very intense. jokers gangs are basiclly like crips in the city. very popular teens adults. joker is in assulym and wayne talks to caine how joker is still talented in how he influend harley quinn the theropist.saying how evils trumps good hopelessness. harley quinn isnt really in the movie but they show her in a video in that batlayer robbing a bank creating chaos with henchman. the only scenes that are shown in the movie are vital to the story no downtime. all the actors will have to give good performaces obviously in their screentime. well thought out costumes. the story is deep but basic batman(control) fighting struggling verse all villains(chaos). thought batman is defintly the main charecter notlike dark knight. joker symbolized how powerful and inevitable evil is in the dark knight passed on to penguin, riddler,Zsasz. batman cant just go from struggle to success. he has to change the root problem. he faces his fear and puts it all on the line to save the city. he faces the city after he defeates riddler saying how " They will keep coming. they will never stop. theres an endless number of people out there that will make the wrong choices. do the wrong things. get money in the wrong ways. i have fought to keepthis city in balance. but it doesnt matter. there is enough good people in this city to overthrow corruption. but theres fear. this city has always been afraid. This isnt jokers city this isnt penguins city. this is our city. penguin only used your power to give him power. joker used your fear. but there afraid just like you people. their afraid of you. their afraid of you people to take your power back. im facing my fear today. but this has to stop. you wonder what your power is its your word. say no. say we wont no longer live in fear. joker knew fear was power, it had the power to keep people from doing what they knew they should of been doing. standing up. people are afriad of fighing alone. nobody will stand up by themselves therefore nobody will standup. i stoodup but im but one man, i dont have the power you have. money isnt power i was the richist man in this city and i couldnt stop crime.(takes off mask). im not afraid anymore i wont hide anymore. so now what will you do with your power? arrest me?......... its time for you Gotham to make the choice. do there need to be any more masks in this city. or are we safe?. bruce wayne gets arrested and during his court hearing. all the citizens poor and rich crash the courthouse. symblolizing the people standing up agasint the order. bruce wayne gets sentenced. the people dont use violence. the movie fastfoward to when bruce wayne gets released. the rest of the mob bosses were overthrown. the city cleaned out the joker gangs. the city cleaned up. and bruce wayne is in the back of the rolls royce. and alred is driving talking quitely to wayne not saying anything too much important. and wayne says why are we taking this path, the "something something" is that way. and alfred turns around with a fulfilled smile and whispers "this path is safe to drive through now" and the movie ends.

casting suggestions

penguin hudson campbell

catwoman marion cottilard

riddler barry pepper

i havnt done research toomuch on a coupleactors
i think the main thing is talent for the male actors
and forcatwoman aprettyoman who can act
with that obssesive attitude
versatile

p.s if this ever got published i would be a cameo in the joker gang

I want to see a bat 3 close as possible to the Dark Knight CB, The Bat should be a mature, tall and very strong guy with a large face (a scar will do it) and personality issues. ENOUGH OF THOSE SKINY ACTORS ! THIS IS RIDICULOUS ! Give a chance to some new actor wit those caracteristics.

Holy block of text Batman!

I had a small issue with Zsasz in Begins, although he has never played a major role in stories that I have read, he has always seemed to me to be a force of nature. A psychopath completely focussed on the kill. Once he chooses his victim he is unstoppable (unless you have Bat level fighting skills) and will keep going in a Michael Myers from Haloween 1 type way.

In Begins he was portrayed as a hired thug, or mook. Still maybe he can develop after some time in Arkham, lose what little humanity he has and just live to kill. Plus he would HAVE to do the whole cutting himself for each victim thing, he looks dead scary with his body covered in groups of 5 marks - gives the reader a glimpse of just how many people he has killed and how dangerous he is.

Oh and it's Detective FLASS not Flash. He looked a little different in the movie to the tall, well built ex-green beret from Batman Year 1, just as well they didn't show Gordon beating him up, because it would have been unimpressive with that actor.

heres my idea

What if it was only 3 female villians? Like Catwoman, Harley Quinn & Poison Ivy? That would be awesome! All 3 of them are deadly and sexy in their own way. And their other lives, they can charm bruce or batman as themselves. It would be awesome!

what i meant was like pamela isley, selina kyle and harleen quinzel each charm bruce and batman, but when they are poison ivy, catwoman and harley quinn, they are out to kill! Especially harley (revenge for joker!)The 3 of them team up but sometimes have a hard time getting along. Catwoman as the leader. I would love to see harleys hammer hit batman!
