Many fans assumed that Ben Affleck's untitled
Batman film would be occupying the currently empty
October 2018 slot on Warner Bros. release schedule, but according to Time Warner's CEO, we may see the newest iteration of the Caped Crusader sooner than we expected.
Speaking at the 25th Annual Goldman Sachs Communacopia Conference,
Jeff Bewkes indicated that Affleck's film is approximately 18 months out.
“Ben announced a Batman movie [that] he’s going to direct, star, write for - I think it’s a year and a half out." Bewkes also went on to give his opinion on how DC and Warner Bros. have
"room for improvement" when it comes to their DCEU films, which you can read more about
here.
Much like the Dark Knight himself, Affleck's film has been enveloped in secrecy, even before it was officially announced. Joe Manganiello has been confirmed to play Deathstroke in the film, accompanied by rumours that the film will take place entirely inside Arkham Asylum and feature several notable members of Batman's rogues gallery.
