UPDATE! GOTHAM: Commissioner Gordon Role Offered To 'Blade' Actor Donal Logue

According to El Mayimbe of Latino Review, Fox has set their sights on actor Donal Logue ("Ghost Rider") for the role of James Gordon in the new Gotham television series. Update! Donal has tweeted that this rumor is "not true."

The moment that plans for a Gotham television series were announced many people have been wondering who will take on the role of James Gordon. Latino Review's El Mayimbe believes he has identified the actor Fox wants for their pre-Batman television show.
Donal Logue has been offered the lead part of Commissioner James Gordon in Fox’s upcoming Gotham TV show which has been ordered to series. - latino-review

If Donal does accept the role he'll be judged against past actors that portrayed Gordon in a live-action format, such as Neil Hamilton in the 1960's Batman television series, Pat Hingle from the Tim Burton/Joel Schumacher live-action films, and of course, Gary Oldman from Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy.
A 10-year-old Bruce Wayne is among the roles that are now being cast as series regulars on the upcoming Fox TV series "Gotham" which explores the origin stories of Commissioner James Gordon and the villains that made Gotham City famous. Shooting on the pilot episode will get underway in March, 2014 and will center on Gotham City PD rookie homicide detective James Gordon who investigates the double murder of Thomas and Martha Wayne. - Feature Film Casting

Interesting. I loved him in SOA, Terriers (Sucks it got cancelled after 1 season)and Grounded for life.

Take out the Mullet, throw some glasses and a stache and I can see it. Maybe.

Yeah the only idea I like about this show is the origins of the baddies beyond that it sounds like it will be cancelled after seven episodes.
