Henry Cavill On The Chances Of A MAN OF STEEL Sequel: "He’s A Tough Character To Tell"
In another new excerpt from Entertainment Weekly's Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice interview, actor Henry Cavill reveals whether or not we could possibly see another standalone superman film on the big screen, after the release of the next film. Hit the jump to check it out!
Henry Cavill in a previous interview already revealed that Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice is NOT a Superman sequel, instead it's an introduction for Batman. With that said, Cavill, while sitting down with Entertainment Weekly, revealed whether or not we will see a superman sequel someday. "There’s plenty of time for individual Superman sequels." He then elaborated, and told the challenges they might face with character going forward, if the film were to be made. “He’s a tough character to tell. People like the darker vigilante. I think it speaks to the human psyche more easily rather than the god-like being that we can’t really understand."
So, is that a no to the sequel? Of course not! Cavill also added that once the DC Universe expands, they should be able to dive into Superman's character much more. "Once we have a more expansive universe we can delve more into the character of Superman and hopefully tell more stories."
So, if another standalone Man of Steel film were to be made, would Metallo be the main villain, like Snyder and WB once had planned? Who knows? Also, after the release of Batman v Superman, will a standalone Batman film be announced? I'm sure we'll hear a lot of news come SDCC '15! What do you think? Sound off below with your thoughts!
