Batman vs Superman Affleck vs Cavill

Variety has a profile of Charles Roven, the extremely accomplished producer behind the Christopher Nolan Batman trilogy and the recent Man of Steel blockbuster for Warner Bros. Roven discusses his upcoming film American Hustle and compares that production to Man of Steel and Batman vs Superman. I've gone through and highlighted the pertinent quotes from Roven concerning our discussion here of Batman vs Superman. Check it out.

On choosing Ben Affleck for Batman.
Charles Roven: “We wanted a guy who had a certain age and a certain gravitas to what he had done in terms of his recent work. If you take a look at ‘The Town’ and ‘Argo,’ he plays a couple of serious guys in those movies. He’s a big man. He’s also a mature man. As you see him and Henry together, one definitely has much more experience just by looking at him. That’s what we wanted, particularly juxtaposed against our Superman.”

Where Batman vs Superman began and the status of the script presently.
Roven: "On ‘Batman vs. Superman,’ we started soft prep in June, and we’ll be shooting eight months later...We felt that we accomplished our goals with ‘Man of Steel. Our intention was to bring Superman into the 21st century with a contemporary character and a different kind of superhero than what’s out there right now. We knew we had created a world and we had left Easter eggs in the movie that let people know that in the universe that Zack was creating, there was the possibility of other DC characters besides Clark Kent. [When Man of Steel crossed the $200M worlwide mark] we had a sketch of an idea [for Batman vs Superman], the beats of a story that David Goyer worked on with Zack. [Right now] we have a first draft, and we’re continuing to work with it. Those scripts are never fully finished until the movie is in the theaters. We love the characters — we think that Ben (Affleck) is going to be a really great and interesting Batman."

Bat fleck will kill it, best Batman ever!
Just finished BATMAN NOEL, and that suit is perfect, as long as you detach the bat logo from the cape it'll be that best yet.

DEVLIN-thats gonna take awhile

i dont know if he worded why ben affleck was chosen as Batman right, he basically said he has played serious in those films so thats why they chose him, atleast thats how some people might take it,from what they are saying though, they make it alook like this batman has seen some stuff and hope Affleck will be able to show that which im pretty sure he will

OMG I'm dying to see Affleck as Batman. I know his track record isn't that great but in recent years he's found himself and has become a BAMF.

Affleck has a high, youthful voice, so that'll need to be dealt with. Other than that, I see him doing very well in the role.

@Nomis:

Until Cap 2 comes out these are my current ideas of Marvel as well. It's not trolling but it's honestly pointing out the cons they need to fix.

Meanwhile I only have one more Blu-Ray movie (Iron Man 1) to complete my marvel movie collection.

I was quick to purchase Man of Steel, can't wait to add more movies from DC to build upon my DC collection of movies.

Bring on BvS!!
