New Details On The LOTR TV Series
It's been a while since we heard anything about Amazon's planned small-screen take on Lord of The Rings, but now some new details have emerged.
A report from THR reveals that the show has received a five season commitment, and there's already talk of a spin-off. Plus, when all costs are factored in, the show’s budget could be more than one billion dollars.
In addition, Peter Jackson may be brought on board as an exec producer.
Zack Snyder's Latest BVS Posts
Over the past couple of weeks, Zack Snyder has been responding to fans on Vero, revealing some minor, but intriguing tidbits about Batman V Superman and Justice League.
A lot of what he shares is fairly obvious stuff that most people who watched the movies will already be aware of, but, at the very least, it does reignite conversation.
Snyder's latest posts imply that Lex Luthor was responsible for the death of his father, and that the dead robin from BvS may not have been Jason Todd as we had all assumed.
Rampage Reactions
Initial reactions to The Rock's rather bonkers-looking new movie are in, and from the sounds of things, Rampage might turn out to be a bit better than we expected.
The video game adaptation has been called "silly" and "ridiculous", but is also said to be a lot of fun, with Jeffrey Dean Morgan's character in particular coming in for a lot of praise.
Will it finally break the video game movie "curse"? Well, that's what some are saying. You can check out the Tweets for yourselves right HERE.
MCU Rumors
Former IGN editor Jeremy Conrad has been dropping some "scoops" recently, and while we're not necessarily buying any of it, it's gotten enough coverage around the web that we figured it was worth a mention here.
Conrad reckons Marvel is planning an Eternals movie for Phase 4, and that some of the team members could be introduced in GOTG Vol. 3. He's also heard that the solo Black Widow movie is tentatively set for a 2020 release.
Again, this all sounds like speculation to us (El Mayimbe has already thrown some water on the Eternals story), but take it for what you will.
Is Michelle Pfeiffer In Avengers: Infinity War Or Its Follow-Up?
There's been speculation that Michelle Pfeiffer, who will play original Wasp Janet van Dyne in the Ant-Man sequel, could also show up in one of the new Avengers movies.
During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel executive producer Victoria Alonso name-checked the actress while expressing her excitement about working with such a massive, talented cast on the Avengers films.
“Yes. I’m not going to lie to you, I cried. You say to yourself, “Huh?” You have big stars talking about other big stars as in, “Gasp, is that Michelle Pfeiffer? It is! Oh, was that so-and-so?” It’s like their little Hollywood moment, which I found lovely and endearing.”
Since it doesn't look like Ant-Man or The Wasp will actually feature in Infinity War, Pfeiffer's involvement seems unlikely - but could she show up in Avengers 4, perhaps?
The First Trailer For The Man Who Killed Don Quixote Is Finally Here
Most of us never thought this would see the light of day, but Terry Gilliam has completed work on his long-gestating passion project, The Man Who Killed Don Quixote, and an international trailer has now been released.
The film stars Jonathan Pryce, Adam Driver, Olga Kurylenko, and Stellan Skarsgård; and is expected to premiere at Cannes next month.
New Lost In Space Image
Netflix's upcoming reboot of classic sci-fi Tv series Lost in Space has been getting very good reviews so far, and Empire's new TV mag has debuted another official still from the show.
The image features Parker Posey as the gender-bent Dr. Smith, and a far more intimidating incarnation of The Robot.
The First Teaser For The Predator Won't Be Here This Month After All
Last week, The Predator director Shane Black sent out a Tweet which suggested that the first teaser trailer for the film would be with us at some point this month.
However, Black has since returned to Twitter to reveal that the trailer will only be for those in attendance at Cinemacon.
Full Trailer For The First Purge Released
Following a brief teaser, Blumhouse has debuted the full trailer for The First Purge, which will detail the events that led to The Government taking such drastic action for the first time.
The Purge movies have been a mixed bag (at best) so far, and this doesn't really look to be shaking up the formula much. Still, it does star Marisa Tomei, so there's that!
Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think.
New Avengers: Infinity War BTS Image
Finally, Avengers: Infinity War directors Joe and Anthony Russo wished Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr. a happy birthday by sharing a new behind-the-scenes snap from the upcoming Marvel epic.
