Hello there! This is my article on the site so try to go easy on me lol. Tonight i will be reviewing the latest Batman vs Superman trailer and i will be giving my thoughts on the good and the bad. Please note that im well aware this isnt the full movie.
The visuals are amazing. It's dark, it's gritty, and it fits in with how a comic book movie probably should be. Henry Cavill is a decent Clark Kent/Superman (and i forced myself to see all the Superman movies last year, he's good but he's no Christopher Reeve) and Ben Affleck seems like he's going to turn out to be a great Bruce Wayne/Batman as well, though i would of preferred to have Christian Bale back in that role but i know that part of the series is gone so we all have to move on. I'm excited to see how the fight scenes turn out, unless it ends up being like Batman Begins where it's 90% talking and 10% fighting, i'm sure people that liked that film will disagree with me but i digress.
What i didnt like is the first portrayal of both characters in the first trailer. If you're a casual viewer and dont really pay attention to any of the previous films, you're probably asking yourself "Why is Superman all of a sudden a bad guy?" "Why is he sitting there as people are reaching out to him on the roof?" "Why does Bruce Wayne look like Superman killed his dog and he's ready to just start throwing things?". I also didnt like how they showed some of the major plot points in the latest trailer. They show Luthor essentially bringing Zod back from the dead (If you havent watched Man of Steel yet...you probably should before this comes out), they show Doomsday which i didnt have an issue with, and Wonder Woman randomly appears at the end. To some, that's pretty much spoiling EVERYTHING. I understand people already know that, but again, to the casual viewer, they dont.
Overall i plan on seeing the film, but i'll either end up seeing it after opening weekend or eventually on DVD because i refuse to see any big name films in the theatres. People talk too much.
Oh and Doomsday was turned into a Ninja Turtle
