First of, OH MY GOD!! HOLY SH*T!! F*CKING MAN TEARS BABY!! The music, the characterization, the costumes, the cinematography, all on point! Also, #BenAffleckForPOTUS2020

Now that the obligatory fangasm-ism (yes I just said that!) is out of the way, on to the main article.

Ok, so a lot of you here are validly disappointed by your first impression of Doomsday's look. I was a bit puzzled too. Cause the Doomsday we know looks quite different in the comics:

But wait, here's the thing. As a DC fan, you should know by now that WB/DC don't show there characters at their fullest potential in their first appearance. We see this in Arrow, where Ollie is neither mayor, nor has the infamous goatee from the get go. Same can be said for the full potential of Barry's powers. He doesn't throw lightening, phase through objects or time travel from the first episode. In film, whatever your opinion on the way it was represented (no flame wars please), Superman's no killing rule was supposedly established through him having to kill Zod.

What's common in all of these examples is there is a natural progression to all of these characters, and we see them mold into the ultimate characters that we know and love. This way not only do the characters really come to life, but we also able to be empathetic towards most of them.

So my theory on Doomsday is that, seeing as he's just created by Lex, he is "Baby Doomsday". And I believe, he will grow and progress to become the Doomsday character we know and love (really crossing my fingers for the ponytail though).

Therefore, as the saying goes, CALM YO TITS! XD

BONUS

I think I'm pretty sure I've spotted a character that no one else has, or maybe someone has, but I didn't go through all the comments, so...

As you can see in the picture above, there is a person in a wheelchair, looking at the statue of Superman. If you zoom in and look closely, I think that's Scoot Mcnairy's character. Remember him? A lot of us thought he was playing the Flash because of the following picture.

Yeah, I think that's him. We don't know which character he's playing from the comics, but most of us think it's Jimmy Olsen.

So yeah, just something cool I spotted.

Let me know what you think in the comments below!

25 March 2016 can't come soon enough! Once again, MAN TEARS BABY!! Feast your eyes people:

I had a fan-geek-super-gasm too, don't worry. I'm with you, I'm pretty sure Lex created Doomsday via Zod's DNA. Baby doomsday is going to start on his rampage and of course encounter the trio of Justice, but FAN THEORY: I think that Doomsday will become sentient and rebel against Lex and start his actual "Death of Superman Rampage," Wonder Woman will be a Maxima/WW hybrid and Bats will do his best to keep up, but I think it's going to come down to Supes and full on Doomsday leading into JL.

What I'd like to see is the League being created bc Doomsday kills Superman and they must unite to bring him back and end Doomsday, ENTER: Green Lantern, Flash, Cyborg, Aquaman and maybe even (wish list) Martian Manhunter, Booster Gold and Blue Beetle.

The possibilities are ENDLESS. I've already watched it like 25 times, I'm going to go watch it again!

PS The Gala held by Lex was filmed at my Alma Matter MICHIGAN STATE!!!!

I think Scoot Mcnairy's character looses his legs in the Metropolis fight from MoS. I think he holds it against Supes, and Lex offers him some upgrades where he becomes Metallo.

@AZSuperman

His name is Wraith. He's kind of a toned down Doomsday, and not nearly as well known. I don't see Snyder putting him in the movie over Doomsday.

I'm not saying you're wrong, just that I see it as unlikely. Like I said above, the power-set is very close to Doomsday, and I don't see them being able to pull off two similar-looking big-bads with similar powers without the general audience rolling their eyes and calling BS. Combine that with the leaks from a year or so ago saying that we would be getting Doomsday in this movie, and you end up with an Occam's razor situation.

But, then again, what the hell do I know.

This is a mutated Zod clone. Should have kept the same look (without the spikes) and called him Bizarro.

DD's regenerative abilities should account for the spiked beard, horns, and teeth later on. the more damage you inflict the stronger it bounces back with bone protrusions and what not.

@sintzu Thanks for the clarification. I just see the Death of Superman being the catalyst for the League to be put together. It's the only thing I can come up with bringing in GL, Flash, Aquaman, etc and also have a Matrix type cliff hanger. Letting Batman step up as leader of the JL to take down Doomsday before Supes goes into a genesis chamber to recuperate and maybe even introduce Supergirl (hinted at in MOS)

I'm almos positive that Doomsday will get wrecked in the initial fight, and there will be some sort of scene teasing Lex Luthor retrieving the remains to recreate them. Just like the comics, Doomsday being sent out and murdered just to be brought back and made better.

@stalkerpro21 what up my brother!?!?!?!

I keep having multiple theories. I do like the destroy, make better, destroy, make better doomsday theory too..but I still think we need to see Death of Superman, maybe by MOS2: Reign of Supermen?

I still can't get over how awesome this is!

I don't know if you can refer to the DC/TV shows to conclude a pattern. The movies are quite independent of series canon. If "Doomsday" is in a premature form, I can only attribute that notion to the fact that Snyder thus far has been a stickler for visual accuracy.
