BLACK ADAM: Dwayne Johnson Confirms Cameras Are Rolling On The Movie With A Behind-The-Scenes Tease

Black Adam has been a very, very long time coming, but Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has now confirmed that cameras are rolling on the DC Comics adaptation with a behind-the-scenes tease and inspiring words.

For a long time, it felt like Black Adam might never happen. However, after another series of delays - this time a result of the COVID-19 pandemic - cameras have finally started rolling on Dwayne Johnson's first DC Comics movie.

Whether this means a first look is on the way remains to be seen, but in the meantime, we do have a cool behind-the-scenes tease from the global megastar.

"History in the making, extremely excited and what a humbling moment to share with you. Officially kicking off day 1 of filming our Black Adam," Johnson says in the Instagram post below.

"Our Director and maestro, Jaume Collet-Serra. Our Academy Award nominee (Joker), Director of Photography, Lawrence Sher. We have an all star production crew - incredibly talented, galvanized, committed and focused to raise the bar and deliver something special for the world."

"This one is an honor," he concludes.

The Rock is well-known for hyping up his upcoming projects to his legion of social media followers, so we're hoping the same will be the case for Black Adam. While we have seen some official concept art for the project, it feels like a shot of Johnson suited up could end up breaking the internet.

Keep checking back here for updates as we'll hopefully have more to share with you soon!

@JFerguson - keep these two as far away from snyder as possible. Plus Shazam is his superman

@dracula - now there’s an idea. Perhaps you’re right

@JFerguson - Wow he looks more like Superman in that gif, than he has ever looked in any movie or any cut

Because of the Rock alone, I could never imagine this movie existing back in the pre-BvS/Snyder-direction of the DCEU, even with it being announced on the slate. But it feels more natural now after Aquaman and Shazam.

Too much hype. He’s pulling a wrestling tactic with all the hype but if the movie doesn’t live up to it he’s going to hear it for years.

@dracula - We get it. You don't like Zack Snyder.

@ImmovableObject - hey if the guy can have multiple articles bitching about Justice League, might as well throw in some of him bitching about the equally terrible BVS

The only 2 things I don't want from this movie are Black Adam to be bald and Aldis Hodge's Hawkman being the Rock's punching bag for 2 hours. Sadly, I have a feeling both will be true.

A Dwayne Johnson vanity project directed by the guy who made a lot of mediocre Liam Neeson movies. I really have no interest in this.

Keen to see how this pans out. The rock may not be the greatest actor but he has persona about him and his characters that makes me enjoy his movies.
Will it be a an unmanaged cluster fk or a well managed and enjoyable movie or semi managed but still enjoyable movie, I don't know, but the idea of seeing dr fate and hawkman on screen is definitely worth the admission price, let's hope that it's true.

@Ace101 - This movie could be the scorpion king or it could be the rundown. Either way the rock will promote it like it's cinematic gold

@Gizmoduck - And as this is a rock movie then by extension this will be kevin hart's first foray in to the DC universe.

He’s digging himself a hole if this isn’t any good. And the director is nothing to write home about.

It’s The Rock, he always does this though.

This sight cracks me up. For as long as I've been a member, The Rock has been fancast as Black Adam. There was so much praise when we heard this was actually going to happen. Now all you want to do is bash it. Smh.

I still can't see the Rock as Black Adam but maybe a trailer will change that.

I don’t see how the shot of a clapper board is a “behind the scenes tease” but I suppose it’s a way to get articles clicks.
