BLACK ADAM Star Dwayne Johnson Shares Another BTS Photo And Says "We Are Redefining The Superhero Paradigm"

Black Adam star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has shared another badass behind the scenes photo from the DC Comics adaptation's reshoots, and he looks every bit the superhero anti-hero suited up as Teth-Adam.

With Black Adam pushed from July to October, we're still waiting for Warner Bros. to drop the first trailer. However, with the movie now being released just a couple of months before Shazam! Fury of the Gods, we're anticipating some sort of crossover between the two DC Comics projects, and ongoing reshoots for Black Adam's DCEU debut could add more connective tissue to the movie.

Either way, additional photography continues on Jaume Collet-Serra's DC Comics adaptation, and star Dwayne Johnson has shared another behind the scenes shot of his formidable anti-hero.

Describing it as an "intense week of shooting," the pro wrestler turned Hollywood A-Lister adds, "We are redefining the superhero paradigm. The antihero. The people no longer need a hero. They need a protector. Rage against the dying of the light. The hierarchy in the DC Universe will change."

Johnson certainly knows how to hype a project, and we can't help but be intrigued by what this character will bring to the DCEU. The actor's fans spent years hoping he would take on a superhero role, and Warner Bros. made a lot of fan casts a reality by picking him for Black Adam. Clearly, he wants to do this character justice, and we're definitely keen to see him in action as the iconic anti-hero.

If we had to hazard a guess, a Black Adam trailer will drop in time for DC League of Super-Pets.

Black Adam stars Dwayne Johnson, Noah Centineo, Aldis Hodge, Sarah Shahi, Quintessa Swindell, Pierce Brosnan, and Marwan Kenzari, and will electrify audiences in theaters on July 29.

Cool pic though 🤡

@AmazingFILMporg - "The hierarchy in the DC Universe will change". Interesting that he doesn't say power this time. After the merger, I hope this is a sign Supes is on his way back to the silver screen. I love when Rock talks about the character, at least that's what I think about when Dwayne talks about the role.

@AmazingFILMporg - If it was still JUST written by Adam Sztykiel, I would feel the same way. However, it's seems that the script was re-written by Rory Haines & Sohrab Noshirvani, and they have a far better track record thus far to make me slightly more curious about the flick.

Though I wished Mohamed Diab directed this over Moon Knight instead of Dwayne Johnson's director-for-hire (and I enjoyed some of the director's work like Non-Stop, Run All Night and The Shallows).

I really hope this movie is gonna make clear what that hierarchy is before it's gonna change it, because to this day I still don't know what it refers to

@TheManWithoutFear - same.

Although I gotta admit, ''redefining the superhero paradigm'' is already kinda paraphrasing it

@bkmeijer1 - haha yeah i thought maybe he had rephrased it

The hierarchy is certainly gonna change, Dr Fate is coming. That's what he means right?

I feel like “paradigm” is a word that dumb people like to use to make themselves sound smart.

What exactly are they redefining? We already have a hero with Al his exact power set and plenty of anti-hero villain origin story movies at this point.

I really wish he’d quit it with this nonsense. Let the film talk for itself, all he’s doing is getting people to roll their eyes.

Bro forgot who his director and writers are

@GhostDog - The writers who appear to have done the draft being used for Black Adam was done by Rory Haines & Sohrab Noshirvani (they wrote Informer and The Mauritanian). And just from those two credits, they have a far more credible track record than Dwayne's writer-for-hire Adam Sztykiel.

The director is Jaume Collet-Serra (who worked with Dwayne on Jungle Cruise alongside directing 2005's House of Wax, Orphan, Unknown, Non-Stop, Run All Night, and The Shallows). His track record is more of a mixed bag and I would've liked to have seen Mohamed Diab work on this over Moon Knight (if he wanted to) instead of Dwayne's director-for-hire in this case.

Dude, you are redefining a largely dead franchise. Have at it.

Okay, that's it. The dude actually managed to single-handedly kill all my anticipation for the movie with his annoying grandstanding bullshit. At this point I don't think even the most amazing trailer will be able to get my interest back up. Guess I'll watch it for the Doctor Fate scenes on streaming someday.
