Black Panther has received a glowing review from Michelle Obama.
Writing on Twitter that she "loved" the movie, the Former First Lady praised it for inspiring
"people of all backgrounds to dig deep and find the courage to be heroes of their own stories."
Black Panther is Marvel Studios' first production to feature a black lead — Chadwick Boseman as T'Challa, King of the fictional African nation of Wakanda — as well as a predominantly black cast. Written and directed by Ryan Coogler, the revolutionary film has become an instant blockbuster,
racking up historic opening numbers; analysts estimate
Black Panther could take the record for the second-best 4-day opening of all-time with around $240M-$243M at the box office.
More important than box office numbers, however, is what
Black Panther means to so many around the world. Even Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige
believes it to be the best movie the studio has ever made.
