T'Challa Has Been BLACK PANTHER In The Marvel Cinematic Universe Longer Than Any Of Us Ever Expected
Marvel Studios has glossed over T'Challa's origin story but a recent comic book prequel has revealed when exactly the hero first suited up as Black Panther. Shockingly, it's much sooner than we expected...
The Marvel Cinematic Universe's timeline is all over the place so we don't know when exactly a lot of events happened in relation to now. By the time Avengers: Infinity War is released, a decade will have passed since Tony Stark became Iron Man but is that also the case in this shared world? Who knows, but a new comic book has revealed that T'Challa became the Black Panther around the same time as Tony outed himself to the world and was approached by Nick Fury about the Avengers Initiative!
It remains to be seen whether or not Black Panther will showcase T'Challa's origin story in any way but Marvel has taken a unique approach to the hero after introducing him in Captain America: Civil War.
After all, while that movie marked the first time the world had seen the Panther in action, he's clearly been looking after Wakanda for a decade or more as their symbol! This makes him one of the most experienced heroes in the MCU and that knowledge will no doubt come in handy when he helps in the battle against Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War (find a list of heroes who will appear by clicking here).
