Black Adam arrived in theaters last month, and while it's been a hit with many DC Comics fans, it wasn't quite the home run Dwayne Johnson promised. A formidable new anti-hero has joined the DCU, though whether the hierarchy of power in this shared world has really changed remains to be seen under the new regime at DC Studios.

The movie further explored the DCU's magical side, elaborating on what we've seen in the likes of Shazam! and Wonder Woman 1984. While Black Adam somewhat contradicted what we'd seen in the former, The Wizard's return and the battle with Sabbac went some way in expanding the mythology in a movie that definitely prioritised action scenes over world-building

With Black Adam now available on Digital platforms after an HD copy of the movie leaked online, one eagle-eyed fan has noticed that it featured a cameo from an obscure Superman foe.

As you can see, Blaze made her official debut in the movie during a scene explaining Sabbac's role in the story. In the comic books, she made her first appearance in the pages of 1990's Action Comics #655 from Roger Stern and Brett Breeding and, along with her brother Satanus, is the human/demon hybrid child of The Wizard, Shazam.

That character is played by Djimon Hounsou in the DCU, so we're a little surprised that wasn't referenced in any way. Of course, it is just a simple Easter Egg for hardcore fans, and not something overly relevant to the plot.

Rumour has it Black Adam 2's script has already been written, and if that movie does happen, perhaps the plan would be to focus on Blaze and her brother. If so, we do hope the VFX used to bring them to life is better than what Sabbac got for this first movie's final battle.

Did you catch Blaze's cameo in Black Adam? Either way, you can check it out in the Tweet below.

@emeraldtaurus - I actually had more fun watching Black Adam than I did watching Black Panther 2, don't get me wrong BP2 was a better movie, with better writing & direction... but I had waaaaaay more fun watching Black Adam tbh, I actually really like it!

The right image looks like it belongs in Mortal Kombat.

Anyway, I wouldn't mind seeing Blaze as the next Black Adam villain. Or maybe even as a Superman villain. Already wanted her over Sabbac, so anything's welcome

That’s a cool Easter egg. I have seen the movie twice as well. I’ve enjoyed the movie. I like how the JSA is being explored. I’m looking forward to seeing how the JSA and JL can exist in the same world. Also I hope we get to seeing the more of the A list of DC characters but also the B list of characters too. With the new hirings at DC, I’m excited for the DCU.

Finally got to watch it, and you know what I really had fun with it.

The movie could have been way better in the hands of a better filmmaker, but overall I give it a thumbs up.

I actually really had fun watching this, I've watched it twice already, and it was so much fun, especially watching it in 4DX with non stop action back 2 back! It was like I was on a Rollercoaster! The writing was off especially for that kid, and the direction could've been better and more time spent on the villain would've been better but other than that this was the most fun I've had watching a movie in a while, even though BP2 was the better film I didn't have nearly as much fun watching it as I did Black Adam, and now that James Gunn runs DC I can't wait 2 see what the future holds for this franchise! ⚡️

Fun film. Generic but fun and that'll do for me. Hoping the sequel is even better.
