Bad news for Black Adam fans hoping to see Dwayne Johnson assert his dominance over the DCEU this summer, as New Line and Warner Bros.' DC Comics adaptation has been pushed back by almost three months.
The Red Notice star took to Instagram to reveal that Black Adam will now blast into theaters on October 21, after originally being scheduled for release on July 29. Johnson’s animated DC League of Super-Pets has moved into Black Adam’s old July 29 spot after previously being slated for May 20.
Though nothing official has been announced, it's thought that The Flash movie will ultimately race away from its current November 4 slot.
Johnson joins Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Fate, Sarah Shahi as Adrianna Tomaz, Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, and Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone. Marwan Kenzari and James Cusati-Moyer have also been cast in supporting roles.
Jungle Cruise director Jaume Collet-Serra is set to helm Black Adam, which has Johnson, Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia of Seven Bucks Productions on board as producers along with Beau Flynn of FlynnPictureCo. Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani penned the screenplay, which is based off an early story draft from Adam Sztykiel.
