BLACK ADAM Is Ready For His Closeup On An Electrifying New Magazine Cover Ahead Of Comic-Con

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson takes centre stage as Black Adam on a new magazine cover celebrating next week's San Diego Comic-Con, and the Man in Black looks ready to change the hierarchy of the DCEU...

Warner Bros. recently confirmed that Black Adam and Shazam! Fury of the Gods will take centre stage at this year's San Diego Comic-Con with a special Hall H panel dedicated to both DC Comics movies. We're hoping the studio has other surprises in store for us (we're not banking on seeing too much from The Flash, unfortunately), but new trailers are all but guaranteed.

The Black Adam teaser received mixed, if mostly positive reviews from fans, and we're definitely keen to see more of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in his first live-action superhero role.

The anti-hero actually takes centre stage on a new Den of Geek magazine cover that will be available to fans attending Comic-Con next week. It's always fun to take a closer look at that costume after months of it being teased by the actor, and he certainly seems like a formidable new force for the rest of the DC Extended Universe to contend with.

Whether that's as an ally or enemy obviously remains to be seen.

With both Black Adam and the Shazam! sequel being released in theaters this year, common sense says the plan from here is to have the characters team-up or square off in some sort of crossover. We don't anticipate Warner Bros. announcing that in Hall H, but perhaps we'll get some sort of tease.

Check out this new look at Black Adam below:

From New Line Cinema, Dwayne Johnson stars in the action-adventure Black Adam under the direction of Jaume Collet-Serra (Jungle Cruise). Nearly 5,000 years after he was bestowed with the almighty powers of the ancient gods - and imprisoned just as quickly - Black Adam (Johnson) is freed from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world.

Johnson stars alongside Aldis Hodge (One Night in Miami) as Hawkman, Noah Centineo (To All the Boys I've Loved Before) as Atom Smasher, Sarah Shahi (Sex/Life) as Adrianna, Marwan Kenzari (Murder on the Orient Express) as Ishmael, Quintessa Swindell (Trinkets) as Cyclone, Bodhi Sabongui (A Million Little Things) as Amon, and Pierce Brosnan (James Bond) as Dr. Fate.

Black Adam will electrify audiences in theaters when it's released on October 21, later this year!

More like "Dwayne Johnson is ready for more exposure in the new film Black Adam which stars Dwayne Johnson, Pierce Brosnan, and Dwayne Johnson"

A bit off topic, but I was just having a random thought...is there such a thing as the Justice League in the DCEU? If you think about it, the “team” was put together to fight Darkseid’s invasion, but after that we don’t see them together again unless you count the shitty Peacemaker cameo. The only thing we see at the end of Justice League is Batman and Wonder Woman planning for a team, but

1) They are never referred to as the Justice League;
2) There is no authority (like S.H.I.E.L.D did for Avengers) that formally creates and recognizes the group; and
3) In subsequent films, there is no mention of them nor are they ever seen (Like when Starro attacked, or during the events of Aquaman, Shazam, or the upcoming Black Adam film).

I would think there would have to be some kind of formal recognition that they are a team.

@Forthas - Eh, you said "Unless you count the shitty Peacemaker cameo," but your personal feelings about it aside, why wouldn't you? Peacemaker is DCEU canon. It not only showed at least four of them still working together as a team to respond to alien theats, but they explicitly call them the Justice League earlier in the episode. If Peacemaker didn't exist you'd be dead on the money, but it does so yes, the Justice League are an active group within the DCEU explicitly named that.

@Forthas - Adebayo to Waller in the finale: "So, I was thinking, like, maybe you could call in the Justice League?"

@Forthas - Yes. But I'm guessing the DCEU is coming to an end.

Why does he keep pushing this Man In Black thing? Black Adam is a cool enough title. Man In Black doesn't even fit him like it does DD or William.

@GhostDog - I don’t even think it fits daredevil. His iconic costume is red.

@OldMan - you're right but at the time he was in all black, that moniker Kingpin and the other crime lords gave him was cool and appropriate.

Cool cover. Still haven't seen anything to make me substantially excited for this movie though.

@Fares - the Justice Society is what I look forward to, just nothing about Black Adam (or rather, another Dwayne Johnson playing himself role) though.

@bkmeijer1 - How I feel about the Justice Society is how I felt about Black Adam. I was excited by the initial premise, but then footage dropped and my excitement decreased. They looked a bit off to me, somewhat cosplay-ish, B tier (save for the casting of course). The direction and the presentation seem to be the culprit behind all of this, but hopefully the movie has better things in store than the footage we've seen so far.

@Fares - I think they looked fine, but the direction and presentation is definitely gonna be the important thing.

Wonder if they explain why Fate, a Lord of Order, has an assymmetrical helmet
