BLACK ADAM Star Dwayne Johnson Responds To DCU Reset Report: "It's All Noise"

Black Adam star Dwayne Johnson has now responded to last night's massive DCU reset report, and it sounds like the actor is still confident that the Man in Black will return down the line...

Last night, THR published a report on DC Studios co-heads James Gunn and Peter Safran's plans for the DCU, and it left us with a lot to unpack.

Though the trade did stress that things are still very much "in flux," it sounds like a full reset and restructure of the franchise is coming - and that might just mean bidding farewell to the likes of Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Jason Momoa (Aquaman), and even the recently reinstated Henry Cavill (Superman).

Despite a conflicting report from Deadline hitting around the same time, Black Adam is believed to be another casualty of this shakeup, with tentative plans for a sequel and at least one spin-off now said to be dead in the water.

However, star Dwayne Johnson remains adamant that his movie will turn a profit, and still appears to be confident that Black Adam will launch a new franchise.

While responding to a fan's Tweet, the actor seemingly referred to THR's breakdown as "just noise."

THR did also note that Johnson's "playing up of a returning Cavill and his own involvement with DC may not be endearing him to the new management."

While you might view this as little more than posturing, it's important to keep in mind that nothing is set in stone. Gunn - who has been uncharacteristically silent on social media since the report - recently made it clear that only he and Safran know what is really going on behind-the-scenes.

An official announcement may be imminent, but for now, we'll just have to wait and see what comes of next week's meeting between the studios heads and Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav.

Don't usually agree with Rock, but nothing is confirmed until we hear it from Gunn or see in the movies/shows first.

Whilst i imagine there'll be a big change after Flash and Possibly Aquaman 2, i don't see them wiping the board totally clean.

Gunn is normally quite active at responding to tweets etc, so i won't imagine we have to wait long until he de bunks some stuff.

THR is usually a good source, but it never said anything is outright cancelled.

dc got four movies coming out in 2023, two of them with massive $200m+ budgets, which are now all redundant since they end with set-up for a future that's never gonna happen. and we're probably not getting a superman movie for another 5/6 years at this point. what an insane mismanagement of ip.

Ngl, kinda feel bad for Dwayne. Dude was so excited about Black Adam... And it fails. Or at least, doesn't do nearly as well as WB planned.

He brings back Cavill, only for now Gunn to possibly reject that too.

You'll always have Krypto, Dwayne.
