Rotten Tomatoes Responds To Radical DC Fan Group's Plans To Sabotage BLACK PANTHER

Forget The Last Jedi Rotten Tomatoes controversy. A potential storm is brewing with a 30k strong Facebook group's plans to intentionally sabotage the Rotten Tomatoes score for Marvel's Black Panther.

Do Rotten Tomatoes scores matter? Can they affect a film's box office performance and change the general public's opinion of whether a movie was good or bad? That's a topic that's raged around these parts for years which has only become more exasperated in recent memory by the likes of Batman v Superman, Justice League and (on the opposite end of the spectrum) every Marvel Studios superhero film to date.

Well, a group of DC Film fans is reportedly planning to give Marvel "a taste of its own medicine" as they believe Disney pays critics for favorable reviews and in some cases, unfavorable scores for the competition.  To that end, they're planning to sabotage the Rotten Tomatoes score for Black Panther, which hits theaters on February 16.

Here's Rotten Tomatoes' official response.

We at Rotten Tomatoes are proud to have become a platform for passionate fans to debate and discuss entertainment and we take that responsibility seriously. While we respect our fans’ diverse opinions, we do not condone hate speech. Our team of security, network and social experts continue to closely monitor our platforms and any users who engage in such activities will be blocked from our site and their comments removed as quickly as possible.

@Saga - The mind of a DCEU fan is as follows:

-Rotten Tomatoes only matter if the DC film was certified fresh.

-Any DC film rated rotten were paid off by Disney even though RT is owned by WB.

-Marvel films are for children and designed to sell toys despite DC pushing for heavier toy sales with their heroes.

-Spiderman is the most rebooted and overrated hero in the slate despite Batman & Superman being rebooted and recasted more times to count.

@SonOfAGif - Your trolling is sad. You need to be able to delineate between fans and assholes. There are assholes on both sides. But as a DCEU fan (at least, more so than Marvel) all of the stuff you're saying is purely the realm of over-involved idiots, not fans. Be better.

@Saga - i wonder if they did the same when DC had cyborg in JL? Or, was the fact that he was 90% replaced with machinery what made it ok for them?

@Spock0Clock - Wasn't saying I was "a true fan". Was just saying not all fans are assholes.
