WB's BOOSTER GOLD Movie Just Moved One Step Closer Towards Actually Happening

According to screenwriter Zack Stentz, he's completed his work on the script for WB's Booster Gold movie after formally being hired back in 2016. But what are the chances the project moves forward?

WB greenlit a Booster Gold movie a little over three years ago but the DCEU landscape has dramatically changed in that time period.  The studio is placing less emphasis on connected its films in the same fashion as the MCU, which leaves the Booster Gold movie in limbo.

That's because the film was rumored to serve as an opportunity to rewrite the controversial, dark nature of Zack Snyder's cinematic creation thanks to the time-traveling hero from the 25th century.  With the studio moving more towards standalone films, many fans assumed a Booster Gold movie would no longer be needed.

However producer Greg Berlanti stated back in March 2018 that the project was still moving forward and now, screenwriter Zack Stentz (Thor, Power Rangers) has stated that he's finished the script.

Referencing WB's changing approach, Stentz appeared on The Fanboy podcast and stated, "I do not know what’s going on with [Booster Gold] right now, honestly. And I don’t know if the DC people know what’s going on with it. Their strategy seems to change depending on how  the  most recent movie did.

But I can tell you that a script has been turned in that the director and producer, Greg Berlanti, has proclaimed himself to be very happy with. And it’s something that’s ready to go, but DC and Warner Bros. would need to give the greenlight to it.

The ball is in their court.

A low-budget feature film, similar to Shazam just might be the perfect  approach for a Booster Gold movie. Hopefully, WB updates their slate at SDCC as outside of Wonder Woman 1984, a Shazam sequel, Suicide Squad 2, Bird of Prey, The Batman, Aquaman 2 and it's Trench-spinoff, the DCEU slate is noticeably devoid of some of its biggest heroes, like Superman, Flash and Green Lantern.
