Captain America: Brave New World will put the spotlight on Sam Wilson as he wields the shield as the MCU's new Captain America. However, he won't be alone in his battle with Red Hulk and The Leader because Top Gun: Maverick star Danny Ramirez will suit up as The Falcon!
Promo art depicting the actor as Joaquin Torres has found its way online today which confirms he'll be donning a helmet very much in line with his comic book counterpart.
However, in place of a beak (which, no pun intended, is a little on the nose), the MCU's newest superhero is wearing a large visor. He also appeared to have an armoured suit and it should be interesting to see how he gets to grips with his newfound role. For now, we don't get to see wings!
We can't share the image, but you can take a look at this promo art depicting the MCU's new Falcon by clicking HERE.
Ramirez first played the character in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier where he was introduced as a First Lieutenant in the United States Air Force. A friend of Sam's, he didn't make a huge impact, and will presumably play a much larger role in Captain America: Brave New World.
When we last saw him, Torres watched as Sam - now Captain America - delivered that inspirational speech following the Flag Smashers' defeat.
In the comics, Joaquin Torres first appeared in 2015's Captain America: Sam Wilson #1. Created by writer Nick Spencer and artist Daniel Acuña, the teenager was initially introduced as a member of the Sons of the Serpent, a hate group, before being rescued by the new Captain America.
They became friends and Torres later underwent a transformation that imbues him with bird-like abilities, including wings and enhanced senses, similar to those of the Falcon. Needless to say, we don't expect the MCU to head down that route.
Assuming they all make the cut following this summer's planned reshoots, Captain America: Brave New World stars Anthony Mackie, Harrison Ford, Danny Ramirez, Carl Lumbly, Tim Blake Nelson, Shira Haas, Liv Tyler, and WWE Superstar Seth Rollins.
Julius Onah helms the movie from a screenplay by Malcolm Spellman and Dalan Musson, though the director is believed to have also taken a pass at it. Matthew Orton, meanwhile, has written new scenes for the reshoots which are taking place later this year.
Captain America: Brave New World is set to arrive in theaters on February 14, 2025.
