and Weaving will be awesome! AND we won't have to worry about him getting face time, considering he's played multiple roles where you never see his face. Weaving is a class act :)

Hello everyone. I've been reading this site for a long time but just joined as a member.

Hugo Weaving for Red Skull should be pretty cool. I have never seen him in anything where I did not enjoy his performance. Even if I didn't care for the film, Hugo has always made his character seem interesting. I think he is a great choice and, although I am still a little skeptical about Chris Evans for Cap, I am definitely looking forward to this movie. I sincerely hope it delivers because it has some pretty big hype to live up to and the bar set by Iron Man, Incredible Hulk, and presumably Iron Man 2 is pretty high.

PS. My favorite was Mads Mikkelsen, but i think that Weaving brings more power to the role than him!

I hope they go with a Harvey Dent inspired disfigured face courtesy of a war incident as an alternative to an actual red skull.

When hugo weaving said "I killed you Mr. Anderson, I watched you die, with some satisfaction I might add" in the Matrix 2 I was like "Damn your awesome". Hugo's gunna own as Red skull.

I guess I can't pass judgement for Evans until we see some kind of evidence of his performance. I know I have been worried about actors playing parts in the past and been completely wrong (Michael Keaton and Batman) and sometimes I have been right on the money (Kate Bosworth and Lois Lane). I just hope he blows us all away.

I wasnt a big fan of Chris Evans becoming Cap, but it's slowly growing on me.

But Hugo Weaving as red skull?!?! AMAZING! Can't wait to see him in his mask, etc ;p

yeah man, if Red Skull has anything OTHER than a RED SKULL for a head, i'll be pissed. i mean come on, its his name for god's sake, lol.

i have faith that marvel won't just make it some lame disfiguration that looks nothing like a skull though.

They say that a hero is defined by his villains, so there is a lot of pressure for Red Skull to be brought to life with just as much intensity and depth as Cap. I'm sure Weaving will pull through for us though.

@tea - I think it might work. They did some pretty crazy stuff in the USO back in those days. We would think it's nuts today, but it worked back then. I think it would be a pretty good idea but it would be hard to make it not look corny today.

see, i don't like the idea of the USO thing. it just doesn't make a lot of sense to me. like why they would go through all the trouble of creating a super soldier, but then using him for entertainment? what?? that just sounds ridiculous. and, personally, i don't want to see any singing and dancing. call me crazy, lol
