CAPTAIN AMERICA: BRAVE NEW WORLD Reshoots Rumored To Completely Remove The Serpent Society

Captain America: Brave New World was supposed to be released this summer, but when the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes shut down Hollywood, Marvel Studios realised significant changes needed to be made to the movie.

Extensive reshoots are taking place this year and new details have emerged about just how significant those will be. According to scooper Daniel Richtman, they're currently scheduled to take place from May until August.

That should raise eyebrows because it's enough time to shoot an entire movie from beginning to end! We're not suggesting the entirety of Captain America: Brave New World is being reshot as this schedule could be a result of scheduling issues with the cast; still, it suggests a lot is being changed.

Leaker @CanWeGetToast has also chimed in, claiming the Serpent Society has been completely removed from The Falcon and The Winter Soldier follow-up. We saw them in set photos and, if this is correct, it will mean that WWE Superstar Seth Rollins' scenes have been left on the cutting room floor.

Ironically, his wife and fellow pro wrestler, Becky Lynch, is thought to have been cut from Eternals as well.

It's said the Serpent Society's scenes were for a major action set piece in Captain America: Brave New World's first act, similar to Steve Rogers and Black Widow's clash with Batroc in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. The new Faclon and Isiah Badley are also said to have been part of the sequence.

Rosa Salazar’s Diamondback may make it into whatever the movie becomes and The Cosmic Circus' Alex Perez has cast doubt on the Serpent Society being totally scrapped. He did, however, confirm that the group is only part of an opening mission rather than a significant part of Captain America: Brave New World's plot.

"Nope, can’t do that! Can’t tell you nothing about that," Rollins said of rumours he's been cast as King Cobra. "It was a really good experience and I think it’s going to be pretty cool. I think our audience is going to love it. I think their audience is going to love it, so it was a cool crossover to be able to jump into some totally different skin and try a new thing out for me."

Captain America: Brave New World stars Anthony Mackie, Harrison Ford, Danny Ramirez, Carl Lumbly, Tim Blake Nelson, Shira Haas, Liv Tyler, and WWE Superstar Seth Rollins (the latter may end up on the cutting room floor based on this latest report).

Julius Onah helms the movie from a screenplay by Malcolm Spellman and Dalan Musson, though the director is believed to have also taken a pass at it. Matthew Orton, meanwhile, has written new scenes for the reshoots which are taking place later this year.

Captain America: Brave New World arrives in theaters on February 14, 2025.
