CAPTAIN AMERICA: BRAVE NEW WORLD Trailer And Poster Pit Sam Wilson Against An Incredible New Foe

Marvel Studios has released the first trailer for Captain America: Brave New World and, as well as making Sam Wilson's new mission clear, it also pits him against the Red Hulk! Check it out right here...

Marvel Studios has released the first teaser trailer and poster for Captain America: Brave New World, featuring Anthony Mackie as Captain America.

The Falcon, first played by Mackie in 2014's Captain America: The Winter Soldier, officially took on the mantle of Captain America in the finale of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, on Disney+ in 2021.

In this sneak peek, we learn that President Ross wants to make Cap his ally, with the hero once again asked to serve at the discretion of the U.S. Government as Steve Rogers once did during World War II.

Isiah Bradley later attempts to assassinate the Commander-in-Chief, leading to the apparent breakdown of Sam and Ross' new partnership. Reveals beyond that are few and far between as this is very much a teaser; however, we catch a glimpse of The Leader and see plenty of Giancarlo Esposito's mysterious villain in action (rumour has it he's G. W. Bridge).

The biggest reveal is saved for last and, while we don't want to spoil the experience of seeing that for yourselves, it's fair to call it an...incredible...moment.

Marvel Studios is believed to have ordered reshoots to improve Captain America: Brave New World's action scenes and it's worth pointing out that there's no sign of the Serpent Society here. Of course, it's previously been reported they were cut as part of that overhaul.

Here's the official synopsis for the new Captain America's first solo mission:

"After meeting with newly elected U.S. President Thaddeus Ross, played by Harrison Ford in his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut, Sam finds himself in the middle of an international incident. He must discover the reason behind a nefarious global plot before the true mastermind has the entire world seeing red."

Captain America: Brave New World stars Anthony Mackie, Danny Ramirez, Shira Haas, Xosha Roquemore, Carl Lumbly, with Giancarlo Esposito, Liv Tyler, Tim Blake Nelson, and Harrison Ford.

The movie is directed by Julius Onah and produced by Kevin Feige and Nate Moore. Louis D’Esposito and Charles Newirth serve as executive producers.

Captain America: Brave New World opens in U.S. theaters on February 14, 2025.

@cubrn - The political thriller aspects from CA:TWS are present and i'm loving it, but the visuals and lack of on location shots are making it look cheap and something aimed more to D+

Maybe i need to watch again but the vfx look majorly unfinished.

@cubrn - It looks like it needs more cap in costume

@UnderBelly - well the movie doesn’t come out till next year so it’s still a work in progress

@UnderBelly - but it is unfinished, these kind of things they cgi just for the trailer. That shot may not even be in the film, or if it is, can look totally different, color grading, finishing cgi, perhaps angles and all that stuff. And trust me, Marvel is aware they need to improve their storytelling and CGI. Hence why this movie went under many reshoots. I think they're willing to reduce the profit on this one to show they learned their lesson. Let's hope, at leat, this trailer gave me nice chills, and Red Hulk right away on the first trailer was a genius move to engage people.

@UnderBelly - I’m sure they rushed this trailer to build on the Deadpool hype. They have like 8 more months to fine tune everything.

@TheVisionary25 - yeah.

@braunermegda - but thats just it, Marvel need to win back some of their audience, and the quantity or quality complaint is accurate here...they could have reduced their reliance on the vfx here. The red hulk shot. They could have done it alot more practical without showing the face, even though the fans know who it is. Showing an unfinished product in that way just doesn't buy faith and mostly reminds me of Quantumania, but lets see. The polictical stuff got me interested though.

@cubrn - precisely that.

@cubrn - it's not a bad trailer but knowing the film was reshot just makes it hard to feel like it's gonna turn out better than okay. But who knows crazier things have happened. Mackie and Harrison look like they're in good effect though so that helps.

@TheSuperMex - they originally had FATWS revolve around the release of a deadly virus, but given the pandemic they clipped it.

@CharlesLeeRay - if Hawkeye can, then why not?
Apophis71
Apophis71 - 7/12/2024, 10:08 AM
@CharlesLeeRay - We know nothing for certain yet, Cap could bring in help such as a restored to full power green Hulk by calling in Banner and may not need to win against Rulk in a fight at all and instead getting his daughter to talk him down so...

....been a few sans super strenth that have taken down Hulk such as Hawkeye and Punisher after all in the comics...

...it isn't like Rulk is the main villain after all and isn't likely to be killed, that role goes to the leader and the more interesting aspect isn't taking down muscle (which with tactics/tech is always possible even if not easy) but how you take down someone of the Leaders level of genius who is also a gamma enhanced character.
Origame
Origame - 7/12/2024, 10:23 AM
@Itwasme - well hawkeye won because the idea of him taking on the hulk was so ridiculous hulk couldn't stop laughing which reduced his anger enough to revert back into banner. Not exactly what this $400 million dollar movie needs for what they're clearly building up to a big climactic battle.
Itwasme
Itwasme - 7/12/2024, 10:27 AM
@Origame - he won on more than one occasion and in multiple ways. Often people go to the trick arrows Banner helped him make, which could be something similar here.
Origame
Origame - 7/12/2024, 10:32 AM
@Itwasme - ...so banner just gave Sam some anti hulk stuff and that wins the final battle?

Mark Ruffalo isn't even in this movie so Sam just has this stuff in case of a hulk.

The point of a final battle like this is the hero doesn't have a good way to win. It should be an uphill battle. But your solution is like batman seeing an evil kryptonian being like "how am I gonna win? All I have is this golden kryptonite that takes away kryptonian powers"
Itwasme
Itwasme - 7/12/2024, 10:34 AM
@Origame - this is the comic book solution. We don't know what happens in the movie because we haven't seen it. But Hawkeye has beaten Hulk multiple times, so it's not absurd and who knows if he even needs to beat him. We haven't seen it, so can't jump to conclusions.
Origame
Origame - 7/12/2024, 10:40 AM
@Itwasme - it is absurd. One of the most well known ways it was done was making him laugh at the idea of him winning.

And so far there's no other way besides just having the exact needed weakness. Without something that ridiculously convenient, Sam stands no chance. Nothing he has at his disposal can do anything to a hulk.

And of course he's gonna have to fight him. Both the trailer and the poster make that clear. And of course Sam is gonna have to take the red hulk down. He can't just let a hulk rampage through dc.
Itwasme
Itwasme - 7/12/2024, 10:42 AM
@Origame - no the most well known way was when Hawkeye killed him with the arrow.

Origame
Origame - 7/12/2024, 11:03 AM
@Itwasme - no, because that was him killing banner not hulk. Big difference.
Itwasme
Itwasme - 7/12/2024, 11:07 AM
@Origame - or the Ultimates version where he also shot him with an antidote after being attacked by Hulk. You can check the article for more.
Apophis71
Apophis71 - 7/12/2024, 11:17 AM
@Itwasme - I'm gonna put an educated guess here, what was Sterns doing last time we saw him???

Trying to make a cure for Banner AND created Abomination, so all this time he will have been able to both improve on a formula to create Red Hulk AND a cure.

Rulk isn't the big bad of all this and unlikely to be killed so more likely Cap will be drawing his attention whilst someone else is trying to sniper shot the cure into him with an adamantium tranq dart.

Aint unblocking Origame to point out any of that however, I'll leave you to his dumb takes on stuff :D
Origame
Origame - 7/12/2024, 11:21 AM
@Itwasme - ...first of all, ultimates isn't more well known than earth's mightiest heroes.

Second, who gave him the antidote?
Itwasme
Itwasme - 7/12/2024, 11:27 AM
@Origame - Banner, but he doesn't have to be in the movie to do so. And given The Leader was already working on a cure odds are this version could come from him. Assuming they even go that route, but again, they don't have to. There are plenty of different ways to resolve this like maybe not even have Rulk and Sam fight in the first place. Him catching the shield doesn't actually mean they are fighting.
Origame
Origame - 7/12/2024, 11:42 AM
@Itwasme - the problem still persists that it's just the very specific weakness is just conveniently there.

And this is the leader. He should be smart enough to not just have a cure available for Sam to grab.
TheSuperMex
TheSuperMex - 7/12/2024, 12:08 PM
@CharlesLeeRay - I doubt they fight.
Slotherin
Slotherin - 7/12/2024, 12:56 PM
@Origame - there may not be a climactic battle between them.
It wouldn't be the first misdirect...
Looking at Mr. Slattery...
Slotherin
Slotherin - 7/12/2024, 12:58 PM
@Apophis71 - haha, I've considered that myself... Can't say I could argue with your choice even if I hold off on blocking for now.
Apophis71
Apophis71 - 7/12/2024, 1:04 PM
@Slotherin - It is more cos of me than him, I'm too darn stubborn so if he manages to draw me into a debate it can go on for days as we will both be equally determined to have the last word. I aint got time for that and easy enough to check if he had anything interesting to say without the risk I get stuck in another circular argument :D
Origame
Origame - 7/12/2024, 1:27 PM
@Slotherin - ...even the poster has red hulk in this.

Besides, if they don't give us a red hulk battle in this after this teaser trailer that'll be a major disappointment...not unlike slattery.
Slotherin
Slotherin - 7/12/2024, 3:54 PM
@FinnishDude - well played.
TrentCrimm
TrentCrimm - 7/12/2024, 3:55 PM
@Origame -
" Nothing he has at his disposal can do anything to a hulk."

How do we know what he has at his disposal though? We know how cautious Bruce was about the possibility of more Hulks being made, when Tony was alive he had protocols in place for a Hulk situation, it's not unreasonable to think that people would still have protocols and plans in place incase something like this ever happened. We wont know until we see more footage or see the movie itself, you're trying to state facts without having all the information.
