Chris Evans' Rumored CAPTAIN AMERICA Project Will Reportedly Be Separate To CAPTAIN AMERICA 4

Earlier today, we told you about a new Captain America movie that's in the works from The Falcon and The Winter Soldier's showrunner, but what about Chris Evans' rumoured return? We have an update...

Back in January, Deadline reported that Chris Evans was nearing a deal to return as Steve Rogers in a future Marvel Cinematic Universe movie (with the door open to a second one). The actor was quick to deny those claims on social media, but Justin Kroll has a stellar track record, and it's not like Evans would hop on Twitter to say, "Yup, it's true: see you in a few years!"

Earlier today, it was revealed that a Captain America 4 is in the works from The Falcon and The Winter Soldier showrunner Malcolm Spellman (read more about that here).

In Deadline's report, they note that, while it's not confirmed, sources have told them that Spellman's movie is likely to focus on Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson, "while the possible Chris Evans Captain America project would be separate."

Could this be a sign we're finally going to find out what happened when the Avenger travelled back in time to return the Infinity Stones to their rightful place?

When we spoke to the Russo Brothers last year , we asked if that story is one they would be interested to tell, and Joe responded by saying, "It would be a great story to tell, no question. I don't know whether it needs to be told, but it would be a great story to tell, and we'd love to tell it, but I think there are other stories to move on to now."

We're obviously going to have to wait and see how this pans out, but those of you who thought Marvel Studios had a reason for not addressing Cap's status quo in the MCU could be on to something.

Needless to say, getting to see the stories of two Captain America play out on the big screen will be no bad thing...
