Evangeline Lilly recently confirmed that we won't see The Wasp (and presumably Ant-Man) in Avengers: Infinity War because Marvel wants her origin story to play out in Ant-Man and The Wasp, and based on new comments from Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, it sounds like that could be the case for Captain Marvel too. While he doesn't outright state that she won't show up in that movie, his remarks below make it sound very unlikely we'll see the character before her solo outing.
"Benedict is an amazing actor and totally different than Hemsworth and totally different from Downey. And, we want to stay true to who he was in the books. The metamorphosis of what he goes through is more drastic than Tony [Stark] and that was fun to chart. I guess ‘Panther’ isn’t really an origin story since we saw him already in ‘Civil War,’ but his stand alone certainly introduces you to 99% of his world which you never saw before. And ‘Captain Marvel’ is certainly an origin story from the start."
Captain Marvel is set to be released on March 8th, 2019, a few months before the release of the currently untitled fourth Avengers movie. With that in mind, it's highly likely that Carol Danvers will join the ranks of Earth's Mightiest Heroes there. Sure, it's possible that she could show up in Infinity War, but when you look at how Feige talks about Black Panther, that seems unlikely as of right now.
We'll have to wait and see, but be sure to share your thoughts in the comments section below.
