CAPTAIN MARVEL To Get A New Script From The Writer Of The Upcoming TOMB RAIDER Reboot

Meg LeFauve & Nicole Perlman were originally hired to write the script for the MCU's Captain Marvel film but scheduling issues have led to Geneva Robertson-Dworet's (Gotham City Sirens) hire.

Marvel Studios has hired  Geneva Robertson-Dworet to replace Meg LeFauve and Nicole Perlman as the screenwriters for Captain Marvel. Robertson-Dworet is an up-and-coming writer who most recently penned the script for Alicia Vikander's Tomb Raider reboot and also wrote the screenplay for Margot Robbie's Suicide Squad spin-off, Gotham City Sirens.

Though LeFauve and Perlman were hired back in April 2015, it seems LeFauve's work on Disney's animated Gigantic feature kept the pair from ever finishing a script for Captain Marvel and with the film needing to start production soon to keep its 2019 release date, Marvel has decided to turn to Robertson-Dworet.

Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck (Mississippi Grind) are still attached to direct the Brie Larson-led Marvel Studios film, which currently has a March 8, 2019 release date.

Robertson-Dworet won numerous screenwriting awards before being hired for WB's Tomb Raider so the news of her landing a highly-prized Marvel should theoretically increase optimism for the video game movie and Gotham City Sirens.
