Contrary to Captain Marvel's "Audience Score" on Rotten Tomatoes, there's an awful lot of excitement surrounding the next Marvel Studios movie. Last night, a new TV spot debuted shortly before the Oscars started and, well, this one may contain a pretty major spoiler, depending on how closely you've been keeping up with theories and the like.
As you can see, it's now been confirmed that Annette Benning is indeed playing Carol Danvers' mother, and it seems as if the Supreme Intelligence will read the hero's mind to take on that appearance (apparently, it has the ability to take on any form it chooses, and more details on that can be found below).
This hardly spoils the movie entirely, but given recent comic book revelations that Carol's mother was a Kree, it will be interesting to find out what sort of role she plays in the proceedings and how important she ends up being to this adventure.
Something Marvel has held off on revealing is whether or not Goose is a Flerken, and that's hopefully something they're going to keep as a surprise when we're in the theater (the same goes for any wider references to the MCU).

Carol Danvers' Six Years Of Memories
The book reveals that Carol (or "Vers" as she's now known) has no memory of her life beyond the past six years or so. However, she's been told that she lost all knowledge as a result of the Kastelian attacks which were orchestrated by the Skrulls.
That's quite a story to spin and would explain why she's working with the Kree; the former Air Force pilot has been led to believe that she's one of them and her memory loss was the direct result of the shape-shifting aliens. How much truth there is to that obviously remains to be seen.
Skrulls Can (Sort Of) Read Minds
The Skrulls are able to shapeshift into anyone just by looking at them but there's more to being "simmed" than just having your identity stolen. The book reveals that the aliens also retain the memories of those they imitate.
It's said that after turning into someone else, the Skrulls copy "the genetic markers, DNA and recent memories of their target." That means it will be extremely hard to find out who's a Skrull as various tests wouldn't reveal their true selves, biologically speaking, and the fact they have those memories will surely make it easier to blend in as well.
