Gotham may be missing Batman but that isn't the case in West Virginia, Oklahoma and Tennessee this Halloween. Below, is a infographic that SumoCoupon (via Huffington Post) has put together that reveals the most popular Halloween costume by the citizens of the United States of Awesome. They've used google searches to figure out which costumes are the most sought after in each state. Many superhero and supervillain costumes topped the list, such as: Batman (see above), Catwoman (Illinois, New York), Wolverine (Arizona), Captain America (Utah), The Joker (Nevada), Harley Quinn (South Carolina), Black Widow (Wisconsin, Missouri, Texas & North Carolina) and Deadpool (Florida). By the way, be careful if you're trick-or-treating in Connecticut, Minnesota or Maryland as those people are bananas. What are you dressing up as this Halloween?

Of course Indiana would try to be different lol. I'm surprised it isn't something country-related or catwoman. I go to college in IN and trust me, one would think that skimpy Catwoman costumes are part of the school uniform during Halloween

I don't know why I looked it up, but they have almost 1000 followers, and over 3000 tweets...and not a single one of their tweets has been commented on, retweeted, or even favorited. Not once. I find this ridiculously fascinating for some reason.

@ruadh That's a very good point. You'd have to be completely naive to think that merchandising doesn't play a role (to some extent) in who lives and dies in these types of movies.
