COMICS: Former WWE Superstar CM Punk To Pen DRAX Ongoing Series For Marvel
Before stepping into the Octagon in the UFC, former WWE Superstar CM Punk will take the reigns of a new ongoing series starring Guardians of the Galaxy member Drax the Destroyer! Hit the jump for details on the series and a first look at artwork from Ed McGuinness...
CM Punk left the WWE last year and is expected to make his debut in UFC at some point in the next twelve months. However, while he trains for the Octagon, Punk will be writing a new ongoing Drax series for Marvel. That means each member of the Guardians of the Galaxy are now headlining their own titles! He made his debut with the publisher with a well-received story in Thor Annual #1, and the book's editor had this to say about the news:
"CM Punk has proven that he’s the best in the world in the wrestling ring and now he’s out to prove he’s the best in the Marvel Universe. How could you not want to read this book? I couldn’t be more excited for readers to see what Punk has in store for Drax the Destroyer!"
The series will apparently take place everywhere from inside the intergalactic octagon to the far reaches of outer space, as we experience the bone-crunching solo adventures of the galaxy’s most fearsome guardian as he makes his way through the Marvel Universe. Can you spot all of the CM Punk Easter Eggs in Ed McGuinness' cover?
