COMICS: MARVEL vs. DC And They Both Win: January Sales Report

The January sells figures are in, and the winner is both Marvel and DC. Marvel, for the second month in a row, took the top spot for dollar market share. Simply put, Marvel made the most money in January. DC, not to be looked down at, was the clear winner in top 10 comic book sales. Taking all 10 spots, DC dominated that part of the market. Keep in mind that these figures are for Diamond sales by comic book retailer, not sales made to readers in-store or online. Compared to last month, sales are down by single digits but looking at January 2011 sales are up 8%.

Unlike a lot of people on this site, I love both Marvel and DC. Congrats to both. I wish Image could have a little bit more of the market share.

I love both marvel and dc and i'm glad they are both doing so well..But i enjoyed marvel a little bit more since the first comic i've read was spiderman.That may change with the new 52 who knows but i love them equally.Also i'm thinking of following this series:

Heh, Aquaman sold more copies than any Marvel comic last month. That's awesome.

And glad that both companies are doing well. Especially DC. ;)
