Since leaving Marvel (where he was responsible for the likes of The Ultimates, Civil War and Marvel Knights Spider-Man) Mark Millar has been focusing exclusively on his Millarworld line of comics; an impressive selection which includes sequels to Kick-Ass and Nemesis as well as new projects such as Supercrooks and The Secret Service. With several of his projects currently being developed for the big screen, Millar recently teamed up with director Nacho Vigalondo to create this promo for his 2012 Millarworld plans. Many thanks to Comic Book Resources for the video.

pretty sweet, but Millarworld comics are distributed by Marvel, so it's not really a completely different company

Hmmm...We'll See. Don't know if I'd even want to pick up comics under a brand called Millarworld......Too much Ego for my taste....

SpideyDude- Indeed they are and Kirkman's a huge reason why.

Kirkman's Invincible > Pretty much any other superhero book

Holy [frick], i was reported as a perverted weirdo for saying "She's smokin' hawt! I'd love to see her cosplay as GHOST" when talking about the character's new writer???? But i didn't even mention what i'd do to her in that outfit ;P

Are Millars books worth picking up?

I definitely understand the negative comments for Mark, but you have to admit in an industry saturated with the same old thing over and over, he brings something new to the table. Yes his ideas are only slightly more violent takes on what's been done before, but how many times do you want to read the same Superman/Batman/Spiderman stories? I've been reading comics for 32 years, and enjoy his work. Ultimates.Old Man Logan. The Authority. Kick-Ass. Wanted. Superior. OK..I'mdone kissing butt.

DarkKnight23- I could recommend so many books & writers before i ever get down the list to his clichéd shock stories. But if you absolutely MUST read something from him, read The Ultimates' first run.

caliguladesaad- Actually, the more "creator owned" concepts he puts out, the more predictable he appears to be. And that's just as bad as the good ol' comic book formulas DC and Marvel have been sticking with.
Shaman

Hell, Geoff Johns' Aquaman might appear to be the same ol' formula from looking at the covers but he's leaps and bounds more fresh and original than Miller's typical shock service. And that's with Geoff working with what could possibly be considered one of the worst comic book characters ever invented. And i normally hate Geoff Johns. His Justice League book is probably some of the worst writing i've ever seen!

So until Millar pulls off a "Geoff Johns Aquaman" with some other obscure or ridiculed character, i'll refrain from throwing him any flowers.

Of course, Millar's shock service wasn't all that typical when he first started the wave with The Authority. But now, his stuff is as typical as 90ies comics muscles over muscles and pinup girls fighting with less clothes on than indigenous tribe people.

Thanx Nomis and Shaman. I've heard a lot of mixed reviews about his own stuff, but I can't get it at my local store without ordering it. so I just wanted to know if it was worth the trouble. I liked his Ultimates work and Civil War, but some of the things I've heard about Superior left a lot to be desired.

DarkKnight23- If you only "liked" his Ultimates and Civil War, i just can't see you ever gushing over anything else he does. Those were pretty much him in a nuttshell without delving into his deviant side.

@monkey.....unfortunately its useless to complain about the ads on this site, im convinced that CBM gets some sort of hit count for all the times we have to pause the ads.......a good site wouldn't do that to its viewers.....f.u.c.k CBM!!!!!!

....its also a kind of slap in the face as far as coding goes. I could be assuming what the problem is with the Immortals ad, but wouldn't they just need to tweak the div properties???????? I guess when you're making money with crappy ads the coding behind it isn't that important......bwahahaha

I'm a huge fan of Millar's work and I'm really looking forward to all of his upcoming titles, but this guy just comes off like an egotistical douchebag.
