Enter Greenland, the territory in Battleworld’s barren northern hemisphere. With its unchecked population of wild Hulks – rampant and untold destruction are everywhere. No one dare venture to Greenland’s forbidden lands without the knowledge they’ll never return.

Freed from the shackles of captivity, a battle-worn gladiator named Steve Rogers and his steadfast companion Devil Dinosaur are given what could be their last task. Together, they must journey deep behind enemy lines in search of a friend, held in the clutches of the Red King! An army of Hulks could not stand between these two and their warbound comrade – yet they will try!

“I wasn’t sure what to expect from Sam when he first sent in his pitch for Captain America as an axe-wielding-yet-noble gladiator riding Devil Dinosaur into a land of wild Hulks”, says Senior Editor Mark Paniccia. “…but I can say now with all certainty… HULK FANS WILL LOVE THIS!!!”

“And artist Marc Laming is like a kid in a candy store”, continued Paniccia. “Before I got off the phone with him he started doing warm up sketches and character designs. What a great imagination this guy has and It’s a joy to see an artist this inspired. Wait till you see some of the Hulks he’s created. They’re completely insane.”

Axe and shield shall slash Hulk flesh and razor sharp teeth shall shatter Hulk bone in a desperate bid to recover what was lost. The journey into the darkest depths of Battleworld begins this May in PLANET HULK #1, smashing in to comic shops and digital devices this May!

Plus: PLANET HULK #1 will also feature a surprise bonus story from a top secret creative team. For more information, stay tuned to Marvel.com and be sure to join in on the conversation on social media using the hashtag #SecretWars.

Am I being stupid or Am I not the only one who doesn't get why this is called Planet Hulk? It's like this whole Secret Wars thing are they just naming storylines after old titles?

@TheDpool: Marvel loves to rehash names to grab attention. Current Sectret Wars is nothing like 80's one except the name offcourse. Civil War movie will be nothing like comics'. Avengers Infinity War is also a name drop.

So basically this has nothing to do with the Planet Hulk storyline we know. Wow, that is so disappointing. This looks ridiculous. 2nd confirmed Secret Wars pass for me. 1st that foolish looking Modok book and now this. I'm so looking forward to Secret Wars but man, 1st 2 tie ins I hear about look like total crap.

Well I think because this lead into the marvel reboot they are going all crazy to make this event truly memorable and epic unlike most of marvel´s events (Fear Itself anyone?)

So dumb... "Hulk fans will love this", yeah... outside of a breif couple years with Planet Hulk and WWH, Hulk fans have been getting the poop end of the stick at Marvel since 1998.

Actually this is like the old secret wars if you're reading any of the event openers like the new avengers! The beyonder is back just like before but instead of putting a bunch of heroes and villains on one planet he's clashing them together so there is only one earth left with every heroe and villain from every uniberse fighting for dominance on the last earth. So @AbhiShake you GATTa read and know before you post just sayin

Must agree with Niviekian outside Planet Hulk and WWH the Hulk fans really haven't gotten anything...and it's a shame. The character is interesting especially when examining the multiple hulk dynamics in banners head...but so far Doc Green is just plain stupid and Kluh had potential if it had been pointed out he was the Devil Hulk that banner had kept imprisoned for years. But alas no.

@Youareallstupid
Well many find him interesting enough to keep him having a solo title all these years. Also he's probably Marvel's most recognized character.

@Nivekian I agree 100%!!! I dont know why for the life of me how the Hulk faded into such a non factor. Though I must admit I liked Kluh in AvX:Axis and wanted to see more of him. I'm also getting impatient with the movie Hulk not talking.

Anywho, I'm gonna follow Secret Wars for the outcome. Whether good, bad or terrible.
BeyondTheGrave
BeyondTheGrave - 2/15/2015, 3:18 PM
@Youareallstupid the hulk does more then say hulk smash and grunt; but they don't dig into that more. There is MORE then one hulk, Joe Fixit anyone? How long has it been since we've seen ol granite skin?

@ChillBill66 I did like Kluh as well; but as I said if they tied him to being the devil hulk (which would make sense) it would have been better. I also agree the movie hulk needs to talk more; a single line here and there isn't enough especially when you have Lou Ferrigno doing the voice.
