This September, legendary villain and adversary to the Man of Steel, Doomsday, will be reintroduced in the NEW 52. Lauded as the Kryptonian Boogy Man, Doomsday is the stuff of legend. In hushed whispers, stories are told of the monster's origin and his many atrocities but are the stories true? Does anyone really know where Doomsday comes from and more importantly, can he be stopped?

Has anyone read Superman Unchained? All 5 comic book stores in Oklahoma were sold out.

Has Doomsday had any relevance after he "killed" Superman?

Guys, this is merely a rough draft, a quick sketch, of what they're aiming for. The boots will look different along with his color scheme and outfit.

I'm wondering if those are pieces of Kryptonian shields kinda like trophies.

No, he hasn't. Specifically created to kill Supes, then they realized that was the worst, most convoluted piece of shit done in the history of Comic Books.

He's similar to Bane. Created for one purpose, to destroy the hero. Then afterwords, they're just used as hulking brutes to throw in stories every now and then cause they're the big, brooding, bulky, formidable villains.

I've seen this exact look for another character somewhere else, especially the face I just cant place my mind on where.

So, he was pretty much created as a cash grab plot device?

Kind of like Venom. Since he's first appearance, Venom hasn't done shit.

@GambitFreak Yep, I have read it, it is the best Superman book, and a great way to capitalise on the interest in the character that will come from MoS.

Nope..just because you say so doesn't mean Doomsday beats Hulk.
The madder the Hulk gets..the stronger Hulk gets.
Doomsy can't become immune to a complete ass beating Hulk-style.

@REDSTORM

I saw that pic earlier today.

I think that's the cover for issue 3 of Superman/Batman.

Which makes me happy.

Superman Unchained #1 was a great first issue and like others have said, a good setup for issue 2. I trust Snyder to make every issue better than the previous one. I'm so glad that we finally have a good Superman book.
