COMICS: DC Postpones The Release Of BATMAN INCORPORATED #3 Due To Colorado Shooting

It has been confirmed that you will now have to wait until next month for Grant Morrison and Chris Burnham's Batman Incorporated #3. The reason for the delay is because of a specific scene which has been deemed to be in bad taste after the tragic shooting in Aurora, Colorado.

Several outlets have reported that Batman Incorporated #3 has been delayed due to the shooting in Colorado which took place at a midnight screening of The Dark Knight Rises last week. Despite the fact that it has already been delivered to retailers, DC Entertainment sent the following statement to those with possession of the issue explaining why they have decided to now move its release to August 22nd, 2012 (the same day that Batman Incorporated #4 will go on sale). "Out of respect for the victims and families in Aurora, Colorado, DC Entertainment has made the decision to postpone the release of BATMAN INC #3 for one month because the comic contains content that may be perceived as insensitive in light of recent events. We request that retailers do not make this issue available as previously solicited." It's not clear exactly what prompted them to make this decision, although artist Chris Burnham took to his Twitter account to try and clear it up for fans.

worldbreaker@ I wouldn't be surprised if they wrote this scene in purposely, so they could censor themselves and then reap the reward of every man and his dog buying a copy when they finaly release it.

the gangster squad trailer has been cut,a masscare in a theatre has been removed.

in the uk we've just got "god bless america" & i can imagine the the theatre scene being cut from showings of that now.

@marvel72 I've heard that scene is being re-shot rather than cut all together to apparently (and I am paraphrasing here) "To show the full implications of the action" or something to that effect.

It would say a lot more if DC pulled the movie than edited the comic. I know there is absolutely no chance of that happening but editing the comic doesn't pay any respect to those who died, it just covers DC from being judged by the Media.

Im scared this is just the beginning. Im really worried they will re-think Jokers return so soon in Snyder/Capullos Batman
Please dont let this nutcase win.

Comics dont influence people to do bad. Nut cases always find a way to do bad. Dont let comics and movies be the scapegoat.

Sounds like propaganda to me. Especially seeing as how the government wants to take our gun rights away... and [have] been trying for a long time, now.

Amazo@ They're not releasing it for another month and it's probably only a page or two. Wouldn't take that much prepping.
