Geoff Johns, the writer of BLACKEST NIGHT, GREEN LANTERN and INFINITE CRISIS re-teams with superstar artist Gary Frank, his collaborator on SUPERMAN: SECRET ORIGIN, SUPERMAN:BRAINIAC and SUPERMAN & THE LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES, to create this original graphic novel that gives new insight into Bruce Wayne’s transformation into Batman and his first year as The Dark Knight. This follow-up to the # 1 New York Times bestseller, SUPERMAN: EARTH ONE, by J. Michael Straczynski and Shane Davis is the latest in the series that features the industry’s top writers and illustrators and their unique takes on DC’s characters. It’s the perfect book for new readers of graphic novels as well as longtime comic book fans.

So when will this hit store shelves? Well it's listed to hit the streets "May 8, 2012", about two months before the opening of "The Dark Knight Rises". Coincidence?

I think this cover is a lot better than the Superman one, the feel and style is much more proper. It´s interesting it doesn´t have the white eyes, Batman can still be expressive and intimidating without them. I hope this format works, I would like to see a trilogy of Batman stories with a definite beginning, middle and end. This could be what the future post-Nolan Batman film franchise takes its inspiration from, something more cohesive than the various comic book monthlies and GNs

I like it, and I like his suit in this. I can't wait to play with this suit in Arkham City.

That is a great cover, though I wish the ears on the cowl were a little taller.

Loved Superman: Earth One, and I'm a big Batman fan. My only worry is Geoff Johns being the writer. I think he is VERY overrated. I hope he changes my mind though...

I also like that Earth One is a fresh continuity. I'm not happy about the DCnU, I think it damages some characters continuity far too much. Especially since Batman was in the middle of one of the best storylines in modern times in my opinion (with Grant Morrison writing).

@marvel72

lol. so sad that it appears that way, doesn't it? other than a random Gail Simone story he is the ONLY one they bother talking about. and he has a position within WB's corporate structure too. coincidence? I sorta wonder...
