OK. An interesting idea. Not liking He-Man's new costume. But I'll give the comic a fair crack of the whip. I usually like most things done by Keith Giffen.

HeMan's armor looks Ironman inspired, but in spite of the high tech look, he still has sleeves ripped off?? I guess because the sleeves are frayed it really is a primitive barbarian tale. How can the Gods of DCU possibly lose this fight? Strange cross-over indeed.

Cover art is pretty good. For some reason it reminds me of some Image stuff from the 90's.

I have no problem with He-Man's new costume the problem I have is that he doesn't look to much like He-Man to me. The 2003 cartoon done the right thing in making the transformation more noticeable between Prince Adam and He-Man, I look at this one and just go why is Prince Adam doing all the fighting.

Bullshit new look for He-Man..he did not need a change.
Hope the story is good.

This looks interesting. I knew this was happening but haven't really followed it much.
Also, STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT THE COSTUME. YOUR CHILDHOOD IS OVER. HE-MAN has OUTGROWN THE STUPID LOIN CLOTH LOOK. STOP IT!

yeah, i like He-Man's new costume. Arent you guys the same people who complain that He-Mans old costume was too Homo-Erotic? why are you complaining that it is covering more of his body?

Did Rob Liefield do the cover as it just screams his style of hardly any feet, and horrible proportions.

I'm still trying to understand what exactly is prompting people to call this "lame" or "dogshit". I'm honestly baffled.

Why is Teela's outfit on the cover different from the one she's wear in the comics.Stratos has that same problem too.

@ GetsugaTensho22

i'm fine with dc comics,i enjoy reading some of their titles.

but dc universe vs masters of the universe is a crap idea just like marvel did a few years ago with the avengers/transformers comic book.

i suppose its alright if you're about ten or under but wow most of us grew out of he-man.

Keith Giffen is a good writer and the art is alright, can someone give me a reason why this sucks?

@Martian,
Intruder mindlessly hates DC, he probably didn't look at this and said it was lame.

We're reading books about guys with superpowers wearing spandex saving people from falling off buildings, I don't think a crossover with a tv show about a guy who gets superpowers by lifting up his sword and stripping down a bit.

Cant wait for this mini-series. Plain fun.

But I STILL wish they would go back to the ORIGINAL version of He-man. The version that didnt even have a Prince Adam. He-man was ALWAYS He-man. The origtinal toys came with mini comics of the original story and it always seemed so much cooler.
He was Conan in space, no alter ego just a BAD ASS

beane2099 - 9/3/2013, 8:25 AM
I've said this more than once. I'm a sucker for inter-property crossovers. Always have been. The odder the better. I think my favorite part of the 90's and early 00's was all the crossover series. Superman/Thundercats, Archie/Punisher, Star Trek/X-Men, JLA/Predator? I got em all. And I'm a get this too.
beane2099
beane2099 - 9/3/2013, 8:28 AM
On the subject of crossovers I still want to know why there's never been a Cap/GI Joe crossover or a Wolverine/Predator crossover. I know Marvel has their thing about not crossing over with other ["lesser"] properties but they didn't always have that policy (I think the 90's are evidence of that).

Tevii
Tevii - 9/3/2013, 9:31 AM
I just hope they really play to the fact that Heman is called the "most powerful man in the universe" Superman and He-man could have an EPIC battle.

Now DC, get on a DragonballZ/DC crossover
Matador
Matador - 9/3/2013, 9:43 AM
The crossover is fine just a fun story, the outfits there fine just updated, but if Eternia is from another world why do they banter & talk is if they were straight from local USA town. Seems like it will be a simple kid friendly read not geared towards adults. This story had possibilities but might end up being flat or Bay style with action & explosions with lack of story.

So is there a reason the chick from He-man is almost naked on the cover, but is fully clothed inside the comic?
TerminalVoyd

The only thing worse than that particularly uninteresting Costume redesign is the even less interesting revamp of the power sword. ZZZzzzzZZZZzzzz. Ok, the only thing actually worse than that is New Adventures He-Man. But after that, yeah, Nu52 He-Man isn't quite doing it.

I mean fine, I get they want redesign it, but I have to ask, did Conan, or John Carter, or the Spartans illicit some bad touch feelings for the sexually insecure boys who fear their underdeveloped penises might twitch accidentally? Did the cast of Troy visually violate people in some way? Yeah, the love child of Battle Armor and Thunder Punch He-Man in a DCnU pant suit wasn't the way to go.

Good starting points:

Even some of this is half decent :

But the above? With the annoying random token fur around the shoulders for no reason other than a slavish need to work it in for the sake of having it instead of finding a way for it work (see: it doesn't here.)? SMH.
